Quote: JCWWRL "the exiles aren't international though at best they are RL's version of the Barbarians an invitational team!! They had 1 current Aussie or Kiwi international playing in Leuluai. Take him out who was the last one to get a cap for Aus or NZ? Joel Monoghan? Some of them haven't even played for Aus or NZ Hodgson certainly hasn't but is the captain. Exiles concept needs changing or dropped!! We're not playing the same calibre of player we will vs Aus or NZ'"

If they were current internationals they wouldn't be playing in the SL. They're still a damn sight better than France, Wales, Scotland or Ireland.

It IS like the Barbarians game. It's as tough a test as we can muster without actually playing the Aussies/Kiwis - which would be incredibly difficult to arrange mid-season.

I just googled that :

Generally, no weight on the ankle is permitted for 4 weeks following repair of the syndesmosis, and rehabilitation with physical therapy and exercise begins at that time. It is important to avoid any twisting of the ankle for 6-8 weeks to avoid further loosening of the syndesmosis ligament tear, as well as allow sufficient time for the deltoid ligament to heal. Return to athletic activity takes anything from 8 to 12 weeks following surgical repair.

Quote: sergeant pepper "France will never be better than they are today or at least not for a long time.

The exiles on the other hand could be better today if a coach picked the right squad or we didn't have injuries.

Add Hodgson, Monaghan, Richards and Hansen and its better than the England squad.'"

Bar Hansen, you do know how old those players are? And that Tommy plus Lima and Finch are going back to Oz?

The concept is dying on its feet due to a talent drain due to age and players leaving that it isn't going to recover from.

The fact our team was due to supply 9 players to this game was a joke and one reason it was is because there aren't enough other "Exiles" good enough to field a team in this country.

The fact we have seemingly had to play a potentially season ruining price for this pointless game has me fuming.

We can take leeds in the semi without Tommy, but lets hope he can play from mid August onwards

8 weeks would see him back around Challenge Cup Final time.
12 weeks would see him back for the play-offs (if at all).

I would expect the RFL to be paying Tommy's wages until either the end of the season or until he pulls on a C&W shirt again. If this is not the case I would expect all Wigan players to be withdrawn from the next fixture.

Why?

Tommy presumably wanted to play and we let him.

I would expect Wigan to do everything they can to stop our players from playing in future Exiles matches however.

unfortunately injuries happen he could of been injured in your next game against the demics!

but the england v exiles is a good concept adds more of a test than any other game and more excitement than the old lancs v yorks games.

and the person who said the exiles team dont have international caps etc

brett hodgson - origin NSW only never put on aussie shirt due to a certain billy
joel monas - origin and international aus
daryl millard - fiji? international
sia soliola - PNG? international
meli - unsure tink he has played international
luilui - nz international
dureau - uncapped but in a position where lockyer and thurston played
lima - nz international
hohia - nz international
puletua - international honours
waterhouse - origin and international for aus
manu - international
fa'alongo - unsure

there is plenty of experience and skill in there to give a great contest and they take it seriously as you could tell by tommy putting body on the line. If england are going to get better internationally they need more of these types of games rather than walking over France, ireland and wales no disrespect to them.

but all the best to Tommy and lets hope he is not out too long it is never good to see a talented player out.

If he had done this in an Anzac game I'd be bothered because I don't want him injured but I'd accept it. That is a recognised an important International fixture.

This is nothing of the kind and is akin to him making an impromptu appearance for St. Pats and doing the same. I'd have been as fuming if Sam had done the same when he played for the Barbarians in RU.

The only games our players should be involved in outside of club games during the season are full internationals. We do not need the Exciles game at all. We never used to have them and there is no need for them now.

I actually said current internationals not previous internationals. And I also said Aus and NZ internationals not Fiji PNG etc. Also Hodgson didn't wear the green and gold because of Lockyer more than Slater. And Hodgson made 6 appearance in 4 series so only played half games he was in the squad for and didn't make that level for his last 2 years in NRL so again no current internationals or players who left NRL as SOO players.

this is what they said about the origin game in Aus when the concept first came out, it needs to be given a chance

I hope that diagnosis was based on experiance of the length of time it takes footballers to recover.
