It's actually not too bad on here. But on some fora, they abuse the right to use the English language.

| I believe the Fielden situation will naturally resolve itself before the end of next season. Stuart will either come back like a house on fire and be a returning success and will be here the following season, or his body won't be able to stand up to the demands anymore and his boots will finally be hung up.
Either way, by next season, we'll know.

| Quote: Devotion "This would be great news if he could motivate himself and step up to the mark.
But i have got to ask the question, why are we keeping players on the books, for me i havent even heard on interview saying "Can't Wait To Get Back". Just feels like to just flogging all the money he can without any effort. I May be wrong but i think he needs to step up or step out.'"
It is certainly not a case of motivation with Fielden! He is one of the most motivated people you could ever meet and it will be hurting him that he isn't playin in this current team.
An injury is an injury and he is relying on doctors and physios etc to try and sort the problem out for him. He most be so frustrated.
Whether he comes back remains to be seen but I guess if he doesn't return to play some minutes this season Wigan will not be offering him another contract.

| Quote: Baked Bean Boogie "to go from Lima the best prop in the league to giving Fielden an injury ridden has been a new contract is a massive step backwards and i hope it really doesn't happen, Widnes should be talked into signing him, there are better props to be had out there, surely with all the loses this season we have enough money to bring in a rough and tumble prop from the islands'"
I agree. We do not need to resign Fielden as he is no better than the likes of Prescott, Mossop etc and doesnt offer anything they dont except being injury ridden and on big money. Lima offers something different and I would more like to see a like for like replacement rather than just having 4 props that do much the same job.

| After the Fev game Stu tweeted good game can't wait to get back (or something like that). I asked him would he be back for the final if Wigan got there. He replied "si" as neither of us are called Si, I'll presume he meant it as the Spanish for yes. Although I wouldn't have thought he would say no my body is royally knackered from playing for so long and for years carried the Wigan pack by myself and I'm just waiting for my contract to run out to maybe get one last pay check.

Yeah it would be great to have him back, his defensive qualities are second to none. I'm just wondering wether it would be a gamble to bring back into the mix after finding a good combination over the last few years

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Fieldens contract runs out at the end of the year, I wouldn't renew it, after so long out with bad injuries and he's on top dollar it doesn't make any sense in keeping him, Widnes beckons.

| I think we need to be ruthless rather than romantic I'm afraid, whilst it's nice to think that a fully fit (and raring to go) Stuart Fielden would add quality to the current Wigan pack the guy has played one league game in two years.
I think it's time to let his contract come to an end, thank him (especially for his efforts in 2006) and release him. Allows us to bring through yet another young and promising product into the first team squad.
Whether Stuart can get himself fit, get some game time in the reserves, break into the first team before the play-offs remains to be seen; but I can't see the club rewarding him another 12 month contract.

| I wouldn't mind us putting a cheeky offer in for Scott Taylor from Hull KR unless Wane wants someone a little more experienced.
