Hull cant afford to keep some current players after overpaying for Ellis, can't see them being able to afford finch. But honestly why would he leave for another SL club

Thank you Adam Pearson for giving the faithful hope: |

We didn't overpay for Ellis. I know exactly what another super league club offered and it was a hell of a lot more than we are paying him. Our new owner is ruthless and ambitious. We will finally be up with the big boys in the next few years and it's about time

| IL is not daft, I suspect if he is not going back to OZ he is staying here, he is loving here at Wigan at the moment, at least that what it looks like to me.
I also suspect he is signed up, hopefully.
Great game today Finchy, again, and I like the way you put the burners on to go round Wellens

| I may be wrong but I believe from what I am hearing Finch will be at Hull next season. Does it not surprise you that Wigan have not announced his contract extension

I would be surprised, but we will have to wait and see. I hope you are wrong but I have no idea.

Anybody that talks to Adam Pearson would be taken in with his vision for Hull FC after years of uncle Kath, our new owner has a real passion for the club and hopefully we will be challenging your great club in many finals over the next few years

| It seems like Finch has offered his playing services to most teams here and the NRL and who can blame him wanting a big contract which possibly will be his last?
Seems that Brown really wants him at Saints (someone who we desperately need by today's 'performance'), Hull really want him, Wigan really want to keep him and Souths are interested too....with all these parties looking for his signature he'll be on for a massive pay day.

Don't mind that, just sort the ticket prices out.

However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

But I still don't understand why he would leave a club where he has ALREADY had success, is currently at the top of SuperLeague and where he can see the quality all around him for another SuperLeague club who just HOPE to start challenging in the next few years (probably AFTER the 2 years that Brett has left in him).
If he goes, it's about one thing and one thing only - Contract length & value (cash)

was talking to a saints fan i know who knows a lot of your board and they are interested in Finch due to Danny Brough saying to Nathan Brown he doesn't want to go to saints with him, they seem to think Brough is coming to Wigan!
i wouldn't get carried away with it though, remember that's just what they think, not will happen!

| Finch would have problems getting back in the NRL, the emphasis looks to be on youth where possible. However, the Souths certainly lack experience in the 3/4s and with Mr Maguire at the helm, we had better look to give Brett another 2 years quickly. The alternative is for him to go to another Super League team and take our play book with me, no thank you!

| He's only 30.
I would chuck a 3 (+1 year option) contract his way, no problem. He has been (touch wood) very robust since he has been over here and i cant remember him being injured for a spell.
It is priceless having an old head in the middle of the park. When that old head is constantly giving orders, encouragement and ear bashing's to those who need it it is such a valuable contribution.
Even better that the person doing all the chatter appears to be a very popular member of the squad.
The thing about Finchy is that he refuses to let a player who has made a mistake go into their shell. Couple of time yesterday when Hughes made an error, or read the play wrong. Brett was straight over there an in his ear. I dont mean for a one sentence "chin up young'un" either, he walked all the way back to the half way line muttering constant advice.
His reading of the game, outstanding passing, vision and rough defense are like extra cherry's on the cake.
He is better than Lam (big statement) and could be held in the same regard if he is here for a longer period.

| I would offer Finch a year contract, his legs are slowly going, next year they'll be gone just like how Deacons legs went out. We've made rash errors in overseas contracts before, have we not learned from our mistakes of the past? George is happy with his one year extension so we need that same arrangement with Brett. Offer him a big one year contract with a possibilty of an extension. Let's not go crazy, lots of good half backs can play off this pack, Wigans pack is immense.
