I would rather see Mellor get some game time. But, thanks to the Widnes game the chances of that have reduced.
Get him in and see what he's like. With the Play offs setup like they are, it's OK to lose a game or two and test out the new blood, hopefully without the hysterics from the fans.

| Dureau for me but not sure he would leave the climate in the south of France for Wigan. I like Dureau as he would add a bit of flair which is what we lack at times. Ie Warrington when we battered them but couldn't break them down.

We are having to blood in youngsters but we have lost loads of experienced players over the past couple of seasons and will be losing more at the end of this year. I think we at least need an experienced half to help blood Mellor through. He's done well in the games he's played in this year, though leading us round the park and taking Leuluai's place is a big ask.

People keep going on about him leaving the climate but you gotta think about it as a professional. We're not just some small club wanting him, we're a massive club. However nice the weather is over there, I still think it would be very hard to turn down a club of our stature and a team thats winning things also

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

I would agree if Catalans We're the same team of years ago but they are now very competitive and with a genuine shout of winning things. I agree nowhere as big as Wigan but it is likely to come down to money at the end of the day. We need to offer more that what Catalan will pay.

| I'd literally be devastated if we signed Sammut. He's a lesser version of Dennis Moran and is exactly the sort of player UK clubs should be steering clear of i.e second raters.
Sign Brough, Dureau, Soward etc and I have no problem with Mellor and Powell biding their time for a shot but sign Sammut and they may as well walk out. Those 2 lads will get chances even if we sign a quality half but sign a no hoper like Sammut to play infront of them and that'd be a total kick in the teeth for them.

I understand they're better but for me still Wigan is a much bigger lure to a professional rugby player. If we matched or upped his money slightly he should wanna come to be honest. He's a young bloke who I don't think has children so that won't affect things

| The ideal for me is to keep Finch and then recruit from within maybe with the option of moving Sam back to 6 if the others need more time. We have to develop a team that is based around a settled half back pairing. During Wigan's success of the 80's, 90's we had the Edwards/Gregory era. Saints has success built around Long. Bradford had the Paul brothers then Leeds had Mcguire and Burrows. If we have to go with another non-local lad then I wouldn't object to Dureau given that he is young and could be with the club for a few years. I am not keen on another two year quick fix from Australia no matter how good they are.
