| Quote: Famous "Then again we lost the same fixtures against Huddersfield and Warrington last season, and unless I am mistaken the season before too (Cant say about Widnes as this is the first time we played them). He hasnt really done any worse than Maguire so far has he, especially when you consider we beat Catalan at home who destroyed us last season?'"
Was quite ed and annoyed when i posted that last night..still am tbh..just seems to me like the defense has completely gone and the Widnes shambles was unforgivable, the omens ain't looking good..certainly don't want him sacked, hoping he can't sort it out asap.

Not too much wrong with our defence last night (though I agree it was poor against Widnes & London). Monaghan's try was mainly due to Pat's injury, Briers was an intercept, the other was good play by Atkins with two tacklers on him. We looked a lot more solid up the middle than we have recently.

Agree with the solid in the middle, big hits and we fronted Warrington up, the break down is a massive problem though, no kind of organisation, headless chicken mode..and defense on the flanks looks even worse than last year.

At least he was fair and consistent, consistently crap for both sides. Some of the decisions on both sides were shocking. I always rated Silverwood and I now despair at the quality of refereeing.

| There was some shocking onfield decision-making from Wigan. Those shots at goal were an embarrassing stupidity. It was obvious to the fans that we were struggling to hold them whenever they got near, so why not to those in charge? We needed to get properly ahead, not keep sticking our toe in front. On at least one occasion, a tap would have given us a third set of six on their line. What the hell was the captain, the coach - or whoever it was - thinking? Talk about letting them off the hook every time.
It's a good job Wire were only marginally less crap then we were. Otherwise we'd have been absolutely battered.

| Not too much wrong IMO. Wigan gifted Wire 12 points i.e. Briers intercept (2nd time in two matches that Tommy has given away a try) followed by 3 silly penalties (don't blame the ref!). Apart from Wire's first try Wigan's defence was solid against a very capable attack. Warrington's game plan seemed to be to just stay solid and let Wigan make mistakes which they did.
Our kicking game still needs sorting. It is not good enough at this level. This includes both field kicks and grubbers. We just never seem to put defences on the back foot with the kicks.
Overall I feel more disappointed with that result than I did last year when Warrington beat us twice in the league. On both those occasions they were far better than Wigan and deserved the win. However last night Wigan were just the better team and should have won.
I was really frustrated to see us taking the two when we had then under the cosh. Two of the their tries came straight after we took the penalties and gave them field position.

| It wasnt taking the 2 that was the problem, it was gifting them 12 points after taking them that was. In a game like that you take your points. What you dont then do is knock on first tackle and throw an interception.
