| Quote: martinbuckley "Downright disrespectful to the opposition, our supporters and the league. He should be made to personally refund half the costs of those thousands who bought tickets to watch the first team game only to find half a side missing.
However, on the positive side, he now knows that the kids aint up to it this season, even against the league's whipping boys, and will be playing his strongest side in every game for the next 6 months.'"
I think it just shows how good (and important) Tommy, Lockers, Sam et al are. Obviously these youngsters aren't good enough to step in seamlessly - there's no shame in that. They still have a long time to improve.

| Disgusting managerial decisions. Twice this season we have shown a lack of respect to the opposition and twice our arrogance has been rewarded with failure. Whilst Wane is doing a fine job elsewhere, he should be looking to publically apologise to the RFL, Wigan Fans and Widnes Vikings.

| What I find irritating is that when Wane was appointed he slated Maguire for loosing 'winnable' games.....................I mean talk about foot in mouth!
I heard & read about the team which is why I chose not to travel to Widnes today. Good decision!

At odds of 200/1 you're probably not wrong.

| To be fair to Wane.... its not an easy place to go and get a result.... not many teams will go there this year and come away with the 2 points.

| not usually one to defend anything wigan, but it is a squad game and if you can rest a few players and still get 2 points, everyone is happy. In this case they got it badly wrong,
Not compalning though, one of our contenders has dropped 2 points.

I keep getting this feeling of deja vu.
If, in the long run, Wigan's star players are fresher later in the season and the youngsters whoplayed today have gained valuable experience, then it will have been worthwhile even though we lost. At least we didn't lose to Wire, Leeds or Saints. And let's remeber that Leeds won from 5th when Wigan, who finished second, looked tired last season.

| At the end of the day it was our U20's side that went and lost to a SL team by 1 point. I'd like to see any other SL field their U20s side and do a good a job as that.
However, Stupid Stupid decision from Wane. Knew he would be like this some time in the season as he loves his youngsters and over expects their abilitys.
Bit of a Man United esque situation, playing half a team getting shown up - wouldnt have happened under maguire. The positive thing is, it was the coaching desicion not the lack of quality in our side. This can be fixed.

| Pleased for Widnes but it should never have happened and probably the biggest blunder SW will make (at least I hope so!). I'm all in favour of giving our up and coming players a go in the first team but not all at once for heaven's sake. At least we will have made the rest of super league very happy this afternoon. Take any opposition for granted and you get what you deserve but a huge clanger SW as not only will the Wigan fans be angry but the players probably aren't too chuffed with you either right now, thankfully it is a long season and other teams will have unexpected losses as well.

We were shattered in the playoffs last season because Maguire played the strongest team every week.
If anything Maguire should be criticised for not bringing these youngsters through a year earlier. A lot of them were ready to be blooded.
