| The one on sporting life doesn't show what? What exactly is incorrect about the comment you've replied to? What does it have to do with the 80's.
Your post, as usual, comes across a complete fail.

| The comments were cringeworthy, displaying the lack of class Leeds are famous for.

I thought that at the time. Although, like i said, I'm quite impressed very last thing he did was dedicate the Grand Final Trophy to me, i might see if i can borrow it some time.

It never fails to amaze how many irony meters get blown on here on a regular basis! Wigan! the club that drags the game through the dirt with cap breaches! two fingers to other fans on prime time TV, [ please don't make libellous comments you don't have the bank account to back-up] Sinfield is probably the most dignified ambassador SL has.

| Who are these people that wrote off Leeds and were asking for BMacs head? I'm sure some of them were Leeds fans?
The same Leeds fans he then calls the best in the world.

Were you under the impression that those things were mutually exclusive?

If you mean do I think it's Hypocritical of Sinfield then yes.
I think they used a particular situation and the pressure that was on the club in early August to their advantage and it helped turn their season around (Too late for the CC but there's always next year).
I didnt get the comments when Macdermott used them at Wembley, maybe I missed something but I didn't see anyone from outside the club saying anything that wasn't being said by its own fans?
I just think Sinfield etc bought into it all and it worked, but there was no need to give it the "you were all wrong" speech and claiming that the fans were brilliant when you can bet half of them were the ones booing and after the coaches and half the teams heads 2 months earlier.
I'm not fooled by it and I'm sure not many are

You think it is hypocritical to say that the achievement is for those who stuck with them, and proves a point to those who didnt? Do you understand what hypocrisy is?

Ok, Hypocritical may have been the wrong word.
Contradictory may not be the right one either.
But I'm not sure how he can lump the 2 comments together?
He tried to make out that it was people outside the club that slagged them off, it xome instances it was and in others it was from within.
The same within that he then went on to Praise ALL of them, not sure how that works?
So for me it was a bit OTT and could have been done better.
Will it/should it take away from what is a wonderful achievement, No way.
But lets not make it out it was some kind of Churchillian speech.
PS
To all Wigan fans
If you disagree and think his speech was wonderful do you think we could sign him and then he could make all our "Announcements!"

| I thought the complete opposite, i thought it was a dig at the leeds fans who were criticising McDermott more than it was any other clubs fans whilst paying tribute to those who stuck with them.

| They were written off by many because they lost 11 out of 27 games in the regular season and scraped to 5th by virtue of points difference. Many Leeds fans were calling for McD's head and rumours of unrest were rife. That, Kevin, is why many people wrote you off. You were sh*te.
Still - anyone with a brain cell could see the team hadn't changed much and was still capable of good performances when they clicked. Always had the potential to be dangerous and slowly improved as the year went on.
But this is why the current play-off system is a joke. Why should the league leaders have to play 2 games to reach a final they deserve? At most, one game against the lowest qualifying team, with a second chance if they lose. The rest fight it out, with the higher finishers given maximum advantage (ie, 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, etc.). Even better, reduce the play-offs to top 6 or 5.
For me the most undeserving 'champions' ever. After a poor season as a largely mediocre team Leeds faced one genuine contender, Warrington, en route to the final and just scraped a win (tbf, a fantastic game), and suddenly they're at Old Trafford where anything can happen.

Because they dont deserve it. Why has it all of a sudden become the league leaders deserve a place in the GF? We have never had a system which guaranteed a GF place for the league leaders and Im sure we didnt see many arguments from Wigan fans for it in 2005.
Wire and Wigan earned advantages in the play-offs through their performance in the league part of the competition, they couldnt take advantage of them, that is failure of Wire and Wigan not of the system.
Leeds needed to beat 8th, 4th, 1st, and 3rd in a row to win the comp, they did that, im not sure how much harder you want to make it without making the play-offs completely pointless.
