| Fair play to young Sam. Congratulations on the award Player of the Year is the appropriate recognition IMHO.
He has come on since last year and improved his game all round and settled in his best position.
MOS not too sure about though....think the Warrington halfback might pip him to that one given its voted on by his peers and not the journos.

Briers or Myler haven't got a chance and if you mean the hooker Monaghan he's had a cracking season but I can't see him getting it without being in the dream team.
Top 3 will be-
S Tomkins
Roby
Chase
in that order imo but any order of that 3 wouldn't suprise me.

Yes sorry meant the hooker. For me the stand out player in the stand out team.

Earlier this season IMO he didnt help his popularity by niggling around at the play the ball and winning penalities for us, but some of his tries this season have been breathtaking. Sam and Roby are 2 different types of player and both do things an average player wouldnt be able to do. At the end of a game you walk off the ground in awa wondering just how Roby can put such a solid performace in for the full 80 minutes. Then with Sam after game you wonder how he seems to light up the game with one single opportunity. Both outsanding world class talents in their position and hope they stay fit for the 4 nations as they can both win a game single handedly.'"
Great post.
Robes is a class act but even in my eyes it would have been difficult to give it to anyone else but Sam.
Let's hope him and Robes can give it to the Aussies/Kiwis in the four nations.

Like it or not it would seem very unlikely that a player that didn't make the dream team will be picked as man of steel.
As i've said in a few places though i've never seen a player play as Monaghan has this year and not make the dream team but it was the correct call because Roby seems to be half a man and half a machine.

Which would make the fact that Robys stats are so ridiculous.....even more ridiculous.
200m a match while being spelled?

Think thats the wrong way round tbh.
Maybe a Saints and Wire fan could answer it.

It's the other way round. Monaghan doesn't play the full 80. Roby usually does (I think).

Twenty scoots at 10m per scoot at the play the ball, once (maybe twice) per set. Don't get me wrong he's good at what he does, but lets not beat around the bush...but THAT'S where he makes his hard yards!!
Normally the 3rd or 4th play in a set on the back of a forward getting off the deck and playing the ball at breakneck speed.

I doubt he makes that much ground per scoot but what he does week in week out is amazing. He like James Graham just keep going and going and going and it's so impressive.
Roby can play as well. We shouldn't be fooled in to thinking he's just a scooting dummy half with no other skills.

Absolutely. Never tried to make it sound any different. However he does it, he's a freak. Him + Monaghan are just different styles of players, both fit into their sides perfectly so its quite difficult to compare the two.

He's a great player (a machine in fact, with great defence to back it up), I've yet to see him consistently dominate a defence with his distribution (like when Monaghan ripped us a new ar$ehole the other week, or like Riddell in the closing stages of last season).

| Can people stop going on about Roby and Monaghan if the fans of those clubs wants a discussion on them go to oyur own boards. But as usual a Sam Tomkins thread gets taken over by Wire and Saints fans.
Bet they cant stand the idea that the player they hate the most just happens to be the best in SL and maybe in the top 2 full backs in the world now.
