Sweet!
I am certainly looking forward to seeing how some fans justify signing him and I await the inevitable ridicule of DaveO when he has the audacity to even suggest for a moment that he is a poor signing.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Would have rather kept Cross than sign Luauki, bad bit of business there IMO.

| Hame could actually be a really good signing if you play him as a wide second rower and get some aggression back into him, he's just become a pudding since Silverwood spoke to him everytime he made a tackle at HKR away last season.

Some coaches can change a players attitude, Melbourne had some very average forwards (off past performances at other clubs) yet they ended up minor premiers in the NRL and when you consider that they lost their best players to the Origin games that was some achievement.
I will always judge players after I have seen them play at the club. Having the best fitness/conditioner in SL can only improve any player that comes to Wigan.

| I don't think his attitude or fitness is a problem. Quite simply, his playing ability is not good enough for us, especially as he is pretty much a replacement for Coley.

I remember when rumors of signing Coley started. Some on here has the same issues now with Lauaki as they did back then with Coley. Especially since his form was not as good as the season before with Salford. Now Coley over the last 2-3 seasons has been one of the better props in SL. Looking at how players carreres in Hull do seem to go backwards you got to give the guy a chance. I have a feeling he will be fitter if he starts next season with us and play in a better side.
Its a pity O'Carroll has to go but in the end i dont think he is as good as Mossop or Prescott and with Fielden returning next season and that would mean him not playing as much as he wants. Good Luck to him in Hull i hope he will be different to the norm in Hull and get better rather than fail.

| If we have signed Lauaki, I'm quietly confident he'll be a good addition for Wigan.

| From what I understand we did offer O'Carroll a contract but he chose to move on for his careers sake.
Good luck to him.
As it stands with our recruitment for next year, we are linked with 2 players with potential and 2 poor players. Not good enough. At least in the days of Lindsay we were linked with players like Gasnier before we signed the likes of Vaealiki
Not to mention the unease about the coaching situation. When IL joined this club he said he would keep us fans up to date with everything thats happening, surely we must have the coaching situation sorted by now so why havent we heard anything? We keep quiet about the Thomas situation, the Lauaki rumour has been doing the rounds for months as has the Shaun Wane and Harris coaching team rumour. If these turn out to be true then IL is not doing what he said he would.
Saying that he hasnt got much wrong since he joined so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. However if all this goes the way it looks like its going then there will be a big angry mess to clean up come this time next year.

Fair enough then. He was probably a bit confused why he would've been behind Lauaki and a few unknown Welsh props.

Just seen it myself. Not sure what to make of it really. Wigan stuck with through his injuries, and he has not really been given much of a chance since returning from injury. I would have liked to have seen him stay 1 more season and try and establish himself before moving on.
