Can't believe that nobody has commented on Carl ablett attempted play the ball which led up to the Leeds second! He played it lay down and just lobbed it through his leg for McGuire I think to pick up! Swings and roundabouts but the challenge cup will be sat on wigans team coach today and not the Leeds one!

Quote: justarugbyfan "Seriously, your either extremely childish or just plain stupid.

I'm sure you couldn't do any better at officiating but if you think you can I look forward to seeing you have a go.

Refereeing a final is not an easy job at all. Bentham had a good game and could not be held responsible for the Finch 40/20 call. That was primarily a touch judge call.

Whether he got it right or wrong doesn't matter now. Everyone makes mistakes and bad calls - they are only human. There were also a couple of calls that went against Wigan but half of this forum are too busy in the pub to bother moaning'"

Im a wigan fan thought he had a good game, shock, in reality the rest of the rugby league world thought the officials were shocking, by the way, not Wigans fault the officials were shat.

Do you not think it was a penalty to Leeds and the ref played on. a046.gif

He hadnt regained his feet because the wigan player had hold of it, its that simple, the tackle was complete, he trys to stand up and play the ball but cant because the Wigan player has got hold of his foot.

There was a similar incident down the wigan end of the stadium. One of our players tried playing ball with a leeds chump hanging allover him yet the ref gave a penalty to leeds which led to leeds scoring a try. You cant have it both ways icon_lol.gif

I can't believe any of my fellow Wigan fans are attempting to deal with this issue as if it's real.

We suffer a season of shocking refereeing decisions, including seeing a player suspended for the World Club Challenge on the say-so of a vindictiive opposite number, and a try disallowed in the Challenge Cup semi by the Chairman of the St Helens supporters Club. We have egg-headed prats calling for players to get 12-match bans when they've done nothing wrong, and the chairman of another SL club arranging private meetings with the RFL to "discuss our tactics" ... and then this bunch of pathetic little whingers have the nerve to come on here whimpering about a couple of 50-50 calls in the final.

Treat them with the contempt they deseve. Ignore them and let them stew on here in their own juice until one of the mods gets back from Wembley and locks this thread.

Come on mate. If there was a penalty every time a defender makes contact with a player at the PTB we would have 200 penalties a match. It's only when the defender is forcibly interrupting the PTB that a penalty is given. That was not the case with Carl Abblett. He was trying to get a quick PTB, and fair game to him, succeeded in getting an illegal one because he hadn't stood up. It happens all the time in our game.

Bringing up insignificant things like this to try to prove that the best side lost is clutching at straws. They didn't.

He couldn't lift the cup and had to get the player next to him to help. He does seem to have problems with his shoulders.
