Which is why Wigan fans shouldn't be jealous. Yes in an ideal world we'd have our own ground but it would have to be one big enough for Wigan. With a ground the size of Saints many fans wouldn't get to see the big matches live.

Saints' new ground is great for them, but that's because (I don't mean this to be patronising, it's just a fact) they are a smaller club than Wigan.

If our stadium was only 18k though we would lose out on a lot of ticket sales.

We have had 13 crowds over 18k in the last 5 years. 4 of those have come this season. Without the extra capacity we couldn't have those big crowds and we couldn't do things like the 'big one' etc. We probably would of had to take the WCC somewhere else.

This extra capacity will also allow our crowds to grow without having to worry about expansion of the stadium.

Extra capacity also allows for more hospitality seats, we have loads in the west stand and it is pretty much full every game from where I am sat.

Just to add, Warrington don't exactly sell-out every game.... and every single one of our home crowds this year have been above the capacity of the HJ.

Barcelona have the largest stadium in europe, the Nou Camp holds 98k, they don't actually fill it every game.

crackin ground. can t wait to beat them . lets hope we are the first team to play them there. personally i think 18 - 20 thousand capacity is more than enough for any rugby league ground.........

Wigans average attendance 2011 so far, consider Cru and Bradford will probably bring this figure down lower.

16,053, concerted effort v Giants and no effort needed with Wire/Saints, take those 3 out the equation and our ground is actually big enough for Wigan.
