| Well at least John Kear called it right, said no problem with it, every club in Super League employs the 2 man tackle, 1 up, 1 down.
Detected signs in the week that Mr Smith was getting twitchy.

| If he is going to talk about a fair, two man tackle, one upper body and one lower body (which you have to on a big guy overwise he would make another 10 meters) then its really sad. Had the upmost respect for most of his comments after the game and seeing him shake hands with the wigan players at the end, top bloke, top coach. Let's just hope any negatives are a heat of the moment type of thing.
upmost respect for him and his club (although seeing morley and briers face was a great feeling.)

| Quote: MadDogg "Its getting ridiculous now.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with that tackle. He wasnt even stationary.'"
This.
Perfectly summed up, as soon as I saw Smith's reaction, you knew he was going to complain about the tackle though, its a common theme, lose to Wigan, have a whine about the tactics.

| If Tony Smith wants to look at anyone it should be himself as head-coach for letting one of his players get so unfit. Solomona has always been a good with ball in hand, but he's disgracefully overweight for a professional athlete.
The tackle was neither illegal, nor malicious - it was round the legs of a player who was still in motion. End of.
And as for Solomona, if Wigan somehow spoiled Warrington's plans by "getting him carried off", then God help Warrington if a player in that condition is so vital to them.
The other day, when I said that Smith has emerged from his petulant era, I was clearly being over-generous. But then the guy probably feels a fool for labelling us 'boring' or whatever it was. We played 'the entertainers' off the park at their own game, outscoring 'the point-scoring machine' almost for fun.

36121_1270460193.jpg Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.
Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_36121.jpg |

| IIRC the Beeb commentary (Kear) referred to the tackle 'pinching/bring the knees together' but then went on to say it's a perfectly legal type of tackle to prevent further leg drives.
FFS, when I was taught to use a 2 man tackle it was always one high, one low. No attacks to the knees as that's cowardly.
The Beeb stated a twist to the knee, chances are that happened as Solomona went down, not as a direct impact of the tackle impact itself.

| Just seen the incident and what the hell was the pointy nosed twitching idiot shaking his head at? If that's now an illegal tackle the games done for.
Maybe he was just shaking his head saying 'I told him he needed to lose some weight before his knees buckled'.

Well I must have made it up then !
Solomona got held up. I have checked the coverage and it doesn't show him get the ball down at all.

Ok I will repeat, nip to specsavers in the morning, then watch the tape back, you may then see he clearly got the ball down.

| Quote: braytontiger "it doesnt look bad to the normal eye but it is a tackle that wigan have adopted which is a clear attack to the knee joint,a few weeks ago the exact same kind of tackle has left are own jacob emmitt out for between 6-8 weeks, its a very simalar scenario has the chicken wing tackle was to open up the shoulder joint and injure the player at the time it was aloud for a period of time before been made an illegal tackle due to the number of injuries to players.i can see this tackle been outlawed very soon and i understand why players and coaches get frustrated when a player gets injured and whilst its a legal tackle at the minute its the fact that some sides use it to injure players thats worrying in a game thats tough enough any way.'"
Rubbish. You are saying Wigan are deliberately setting out to injure players by attacking joints. Complete and utter rubbish.
Tackling a player "high and low" is how the game is played and has been for decades. Solomona's injury was bad luck. Nothing else. Watching it live I thought he was concussed because his head hit the ground a bit hard not that his knee was done because I could not see anything else to worry about. And that isn't bias it is EXACTLY what I thought at the time.
Smith was OK after match on the BBC in complimenting us on the attacking play maybe because he'd look a bit if a tit if he didn't after he pre-match comments but he should have left it at that.
