Yes a standing ovation for ordinarilly signing a new contract may be ridiculus but it depends upon the circumstances.

Was the reaction given to radlinski for turning down the union dollar and re-signing for wigan ridiculous?

Yeah booing Sam was funny for about 30 mins at the Hudds match, but it's a bit embarrassing now.
I agree with the people that say it's a bit much to do what the OP suggests. I think I big cheer when his name is read out will suffice.

It was class live on sky for the Hudds game when he was scoring. I think we should only do it when he scores. It shuts the other fans up.
