| Anywhere else on the field and that would be given as a knock on. If it was a prop forward who dropped the ball onto the ground then kicked it it would be classed as a knock on.
To say that it wasn't a knock on would be to create massive inconsistency with similar decisions previously. Since inconsistency is something that Cummins has made an essential part of refereeing it means that he must be correct.
I just hope that refs and video refs avoid using common sense in the future in order to prevent such consistencies happening again.

I just think it's laughable some fans think they know better than the bloke who decides how the rules should be interpreted

Cummins doesnt do that though. Cummins will agree the rules and introduce any changes but as with anything in its upto the individual referee to decide how he interprets the rule some are more strict than others, some let it flow and some will just make their own rules alltogeth

I'm sure you agree with every decision Steve McNamara makes too. Just because the RFL put someone in charge it doesn't mean they're automatically fool-proof

| No matter what Cummings says McGuire lost control of the ball, it went forward and hit the ground. It's a knock on.
If he was correct, how long do you leave it before you call the knock on, does the ball have to bounce above knee height? McGuire only tried to kick the ball because he lost control.

I will take a defeat on the chin any day of the week. Recent displays against Catalans and a superior Warrington side for example. No one would have put money on us getting anything out of this game and all you want it a display and what's we got. Is getting consistant calls from officials game to game too much to ask. Sometimes however hard you try, there are decisions made out of your control that put you on your knees (and I know it's swings and round abouts). The Ferres one I can live with (even though your coach thought it was a try), but the Carmount one................ sorry no way.

Of course it would, and, if you were attempting a 'drop goal', wouldn't you be aiming at the goalposts ?

| Quote: jungle man "What a load of tosh. At least be humble in victory and give credit to a young/massively under strength Cas team. Are you telling me that you were superior to us with the amount of players we had missing?. Unless it's Leeds, Wigan, Saints and Warrington, no one else has injury problems. The simple fact of the matter is that diabolical decision to allow Carmonts try changed the game. That incident is obstruction 10 times out of 10, but for some reason Bentham thought bowling over a player in the defensive line is OK. In regards to Ferres, the ball looked lodged between the players legs after they started to get back up. After those 2 decisions, I was ready for TRY or PENTALTY TRY to appear on the screen after JL lost the ball under the sticks!!!. At this moment in time, there is only one winner of Super League 2011 and it's not you lot that's for sure!!!'"
Gosh! Is it that time already? Time for a pint methinks, make mine a Yarkshire bitter, I just love to see it in full flo

| No doubt he will also come out and state the Ferres non try should have been given benefit of the doubt.
I would like to know why only five Cas players were allowed to pack down just before Ferres got the ball please Stuart.???

Look, it's our fault.
We forgot the knock-on rule should be changed to suit Leeds.
Presumably Cummins got on the phone to GMR after Gary got on the phone to him.

Weve done enough this season to be top of the league at this point. We are also the current champions. We dont have to play our best every game to win especially against teams like Castleford. Luck doesnt come into it, we are top of the league for a reason. Weve been the best team so far.
You can moan all you want about dodgy decisions last night but without them when we played at your place you wouldnt of had a sniff of a draw so its all swings and roundabouts.
We dont go out to win in the same way every game at all, we play to the schedule and try to manage our resources to get the best results over a full season. You are Castleford underestimating the proffessionalism of Wigan?
