ok, from the first post, I'll highlight the relevant bit for you Mo wanted to sell Wigan to the son, Foster Gillett'"
If you're not aware Hicks and Gillett, in buying Liverpool, saddled them with a massive amount of debt, almost killing the club. Only a takeover backed by the non-Hicks Gillett part of the board managed to save the club.
What some here are saying is that if Mo wanted to sell our club to Foster Gillett it could well have seen us destroyed in the end.
Mo should be remembered for the great things he did for Wigan Rugby, equally we, as fans shouldn't forget the mire he and Whelan left us in (see previous topic on Fans Forum for the financial state of the club now relative to when Whelan and Mo exited) so to avoid ending up in the same position again.

I'd call myself a Man Utd fan (not that I go and watch them etc) but Gillete and Hicks did nothing but e on Liverpool fc, would you want someone associated with them running Wigan? Nobody is saying that Mo was a bad one or didn't do things that helped the club or British RL in general, just that in this case things could have turned out much worse. I personally wouldn't change how the club is run now, would you?

Don't recognised him?
If I said he was the son of the bloke on the left of this picture you might start to get a better idea
Apparently according to a new book on Hicks and Gillett's disastrous ownership of Liverpool, Mo wanted to sell Wigan to the son, Foster Gillett. Should make interesting reading. Thanks to Richard de la Riviere for the info.
rlFrom this bookrl'"
Jesus! Nearly spat my brew all over my keyboard when I saw that second picture.
That's a terrifying prospect. Thank god for Ian Lenegan!
