| We've got to look to Australia again for me. I think Wane will make a top Wigan coach but not quite yet. Maguire worked his way up and did 5 years as assisstant, Wane has only had 2. Another couple of years as 2nd in command will only benefit Wane in the long run.

| Craig Bellamy. Second best coach in the game behind Bennett. Although sadly he'd never come over.

| IMO its simple. If Wane thinks he is ready to take the job, then IMO give it him. He has won championships with all the teams he has coached either as head coach or assistant. If he feels he is not ready and would like more time as an assistant then IMO we should look at someone who is happy to carry on in the same manor that MM has started. The last thing we need is a Brian MAC type situation that is happening at Leeds.

| Maybe you'd benefit from a 'Director of Rugby' type appointment if it's the right man. I don't know enough about Shaun Wane to really offer an opinion other than obviously he's pretty inexperienced as a SL coach and maybe could benefit from a bit more guidance. Then again, God rest his soul, neither had Mike Gregory who I think was pretty close to getting you where you needed to be so I guess it's always a judgement call.
Someone like John Monie perhaps who would just act as a mentor figure without getting involved in the day to day stuff.
Just a thought. Your Chairman ain't stupid so it will be a well thought through appointment.

| As a wire fan, no offence but if wane got the job i can't see him carrying on maguire's work to the same degree. Personally, if edwards isn't coming home, then i think lam with wane assistant a bit longer is the way to go.

Yep, i agree. Maybe a more experienced coach from Aus just to build on the new ideas brought in by MM. Then in 2-3 years Wane may get top job.

| Ian Lenagans recruitment since taking over at Wigan has been almost perfect if not perfect to date.
I always felt that under Maurice Lindsey and the formation of Superleague that we were very much out of touch with what was happening in the NRL in relation to recruitment - Lindsey would always go for big names but they didn't always prove to be the right choice for Wigan, im not convinced that all of his coaching options were the best either although many would argue that he didnt get them long enough or the freedom to sign the players that they wanted.
When we were linked with Micheal Maguire few in this country knew who he was, the same could be said about Bitcon yet both have proved to be quality accusitions to Wigan - some credit must go to Tony Rae for that and ive no doubt he will be consulted again with regard to the availability of coaches in the NRL - not just for next season but in the years ahead (even if Wane is given the job).
I just hope that whoever is given the job is given it on the basis of not the ability to maintain our current standards but who can improve the team further.

| It should be wanes. If waney feels he is ready give it to him. If not get searching Aus again. The only other coach I would consider is Nathan Brown.

That's the way it should be for me.
Wane has earned his chance to step up IMO.
