| Quote: post "Playera to replace existing ones next season.
Imo I Would take Keith Mason from Hudds to replace Coley, good, solid prop who hardly makes errors IMO, doesn't take a backwards step and is the model pro. A few might not like him due to what he is like on the pitch but I would have him ina heartbeat.'"
He's not fit to lace Coley's boots imo. He’s an ok player but for me Coley is the most underrated forward in SL. His work rate, defence and dedication seems to go a miss on here sometimes.
I doubt we’d replace Coley anyway. Don’t forget our four props of Coley, Prescott, Lima and Mossop are doing just fine and we’ve got Fielden to come back and Hock coming into the mix. A new prop signing would waste much needed cap space imo.
Next season I can see;
Starting
Prescott
Fielden
Bench
Lima
Mossop
Back up
Hock
Davies (should really be his time now)
Crosby

| Simply our priority next season lies firstly at centre and then either a new HB/FB or Hooker.
Carmont on an extended deal could be an option but I’d love to see us try to sign a big name player like Hodges to give us that true world centre threat.
In regards to the new HB/FB or hooker I’d go for Sam to HB, Tommy to 9 and a new FB being brought in. We need a FB who is comfortable under the high ball, can tackle, launch attacks from deep and most importantly link in the play like Sam does.

We need to replace Coley should he retire. Prescott is NOT good enough. Mind you, I suppose Hock is a good replacement when he's recovered his form prior to his ban.
Ben Davies really should start to push for a place now, I've personally never seen him play BUT from what I've heard on here and from other people who have he's a great player. He needs to take his chance when it's given to him. At this stage of his career it's vital he takes it and doesn't let it go.

He's been our 2nd best prop this season for me and really stepped up.
We need to conserve cap space and sign a truly world class back.

I agree with that, and that may seem a little strange as in one hand I'm saying get rid (though not as harsh as that!) and another he's our second best prop. There's just something about him that doesn't quite fit, IMO.
Having said that I am more than happy to sit here and be proved wrong on this via his performances.

I think you mentioned on another thread that when Hock comes back he'd jump the queue in front of Prescott. As good as Prescott has been I agree Hock is a different class but if we can fit them both in the side then we’d be crazy not to.
No other side would have two fourth choice props in Mossop and Prescott as good as these two.

| IMO, the prop most in danger of being dropped for Hock on current form is Lima. He's not done anything wrong, but fmpov Coley, Prescott and Mossop have all performed better.

| You mean this one;
Quote: 100% Warrior "Personally I'd use Hock* as his replacement. I just don't think he's good enough/big enough for prop at a top SL side, I agree he has his good games but I've said it before there's just something that I don't like about him. I'm no 'Prescott-hater' he is a decent player, but I just doubt he's good enough for one of the top SL sides.
* May be jumping the gun and presuming Hock will fire on all cylinders straight away, but on his day Hock is 10 times the player Prescott is. Obviously I'm basing this on 2 seasons ago (Or whenever it was he last played).'"
On Hock's day, I'd definately shove him at the front of Prescott, but he won't fire on all cylinders for a good few games Hock anyway, therefore on that basis you'd have to select Prescott before him until he gets form/match fitness. However, it is questionable as to whether Mossop is a prop or not, Hock will probably go before Mossop and not Prescott anyway.
I agree with the above post.

Disagree. Jeff Lima was our best forward last week.
Props win you pots. If Andy Coley goes he needs replacing. Gareth Hock is an unknown quality and Dom Crosby and Ben Davies aren't ready. Shame Nick Scruton signed a three year deal with Bradford.

Along with him being off to Salford and Aus..... Can't wait for something official to be confirmed so all this speculation can stop.

| As it stands unless we cannot bring in another real top class centre this season to replace Gleeson I would offer Carmont a further year.
Coley if he has the desire to go round again also I see no problem with. He has been our best Prop for the last 2 years for me and he shows no sign of slipping this year from that.
Losing 2 centres in such quick succession could be a real problem, so depending on where we stand with the cap 1 more year should well be an option....depending on the next few months evidence anyway.
