23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

That would be a silly comparison, but as a centre his wingers got 9 tries in 6 games in the reserves, which isn't a bad return - in addition to his own 5 from 6. (haven't got his HKR centre stats handy, but I know they were excellent).

He's more of a centre than Marsh is. Did you see that pass to the Hoff?

Charnley tonight was all over the shop and we need someone like that goulding wont take paaaaat's place and he wont take chanleys on this season
End of the day you put him in 21's he goes so no option'"
Just bear in mind why Charnley is playing, because Pat is injured. If there's one thing we've learnt so far this years it's that injuries do and will happen. We need to have more than 2 wingers, you get rid of Goulding and Charnley gets injured or Pat doesn't recover properly and you start to have problems.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

For us last year he was showed much, much more than just being a finisher. He's got pace and decent hands, wasn't phased at all playing in a derby game and defended very well in all his loan games.
This lad can read the game very well, you'd waste him on the wing. Centre is where you need to play him.
It's a shame he played so well for Rovers last year as we'd have snapped him up in a heartbeat, this was never going to happen though as he's very highly regarded at your club, and rightly so.

For the record, 'all over the shop' generally means his positional sense was terrible/he made multiple mistakes. Neither of which was the case last night.

| I recon he is great value at either position. He certainly will be pushing for a first 17 spot. He would fill the gap that gleeson has left at the moment , perfectly well. He also filling in for pat very well.

| Seems he will be a star the lad, top game on the wing but he has more to offer for me. He could become a good and think he could cover fullback with ease. Showed a little more than Marsh but he let no one down either. Showing some good promise from these two.

| I'd give him a shot at centre next week. He's full of confidence and will easily handle the position imo. He's looks like the long term replacment for a certain number 3 if given the opportunity. I've praised Marsh again in the 1-2-3 thread as he's really been solid in the last couple of weeks but we need to pick our best side available and I couldn't quite squeeze him into that at the moment.

| I know some may spit at this but Charnely reminds me in some ways of Chris Ashton - the good parts of Ashton's game, the ability to read a break, supporting the man and the burst of pace, better defender though already.

Similar in stature for sure but actually seems like a decent lad.

| I never saw him in the u20s, however watched all his matches for blackpool, and he looked a very good prospect then, I'm glad to see him take his opportunity well, when pat returns he deserves to keep his spot, providing he keeps going which i'm sure he will.
