A lad at work (Stains fan) sent me a copy and paste of the squads on a bragging email this afternoon with the header - Nine St Helens Players in England Set-up.

He sent this to three Wigan supporting colleagues including me (hoping to get a rise), I read it and sent him one back saying there were Ten Wigan Players in the squads....he was gutted, he hadn't even bothered to check before sending it to us.

A little embarrased, he then came over and stated that both clubs were doing tremendous work in bringing through local players that go on to achieve International duties.

He was then told by me that of his nine players, Pryce was purchased from Bradford, Wilkin from Hull KR, Shenton from Castleford and LMS from Harlequins, so only five of his nine were Academy produced.

I then told him that all ten Wigan players were all Academy produced.

His face was a picture.

Great to see all 10 of our lads have come through the academy.

Hats off to our youth system.
