| Maybe Hetherington should become coach at Leeds If this is what he wants.

| Why is it so hard for opposition fans to understand that to win you need to defend too.
Theres no point playing attacking rugby if you're gonna score 30 points but your defence is so bad you conceed 40 is there?
And yes I realise it was a journalist who made the connection but lets be honest Wigan and Hudds are who Hetherington meant.

| i think the problem is with when a team just defends.
The times of 6-4 matches are in the past and people want to see some attacking flair.
I think Warrington and the old Saints team have a nice mix of champagne attacking rugby and steely defending.
I haven;t read the article btw

But unless Im mis taken Wigan and Huddersfield where 2 teams singled out all season from most coaches and fans as producing boring negative defensive rugby! Unless Mr H is having a dig at other clubs in the SL or Championship then I think its pretty safe to say the said 2 teams were the ones he was "having a dig at"

| To be fair to him, Leeds did provide one of the greatest, most entertaining spectacles last season - who could possibly grow tired of seeing Keith Senior spit his dummy in the semi-final when he realised the game was up? Worth the entrance fee alone.
On which note - that game at Headingley was a defensive masterclass from Wigan. Was it boring? Not a bit.

don't think it was called 'boring negative rugby' by most coaches.... im pretty sure it was the lying on at the play the ball and killing the flow of the game that was criticized...

Think we should show him some of the trys we scored last year, those combined with the excellent defence was the reason for our suceess.
ive said well done before ,now lets see you do it again this year and prove it was'nt a fluke

| What a fool. Wigan were by far the most entertaining team last year scoring some of the best tries. In the big games we did have to strangle life out of the opposition but isn't that what Leeds have done in big games for the last 4 years? With ball in hand we play better rugby than anyone at the moment. In terms of defence we do it better than anyone.
He sees the defence we do as boring, does he expect our team to let the man up to make it entertaining? Does he want us to throw a risky pass everytime.
Would he be saying this had Leeds sneaked past us in that last semi? NO.
He is bitter and unknowledgable. His antics from within the Leeds club have been nothing but shocking since the Maguire and Phill Clarke story. He showed their club up big time in the lead up to the big game. I would love to beat Leeds everytime we play them this year! I hope we play them 5 times and squeeze the life out of them every single time.

| I don't think the challenge cup match where leeds won was boring at all it was a tense nail biting game right until the death.
Isn't that what people pay there money to watch ?
also it was lauded as one of the best cup ties for some considerable time by the BBC.
If Gazza wants more open rugby, then push for a reduction in the number of subs and let natural fatigue come into play more often rather than indirectly criticise other club coaches for being good with the players they have at there disposal

It was tense but it did feel like Yawnion a bit. It was only the tease of a try that kept me tense. I hate the mentality where it is just kicking goals.

I think you are confusing Hetherington with McClennan, but don't let the facts get in the way of a good rant...
