| Tartan saint is one of the c*nts who it will hurt most if we win tomorrow.
If we lose he will be on here as soon as the final hooter goes bragging from his mum and dads attic and if we win we wont hear from him till next season.

| Quote: Tartan Saint "Fair enough.
It would do, its the Grand Final.
It is just Saints you would beat. I dont know anybody who has said Wigan are not a force, nor anyone who has said they are finished. Wigan will never again dominate British RL. I certainly know of nobody who has said Wigan are no longer famous. You have cheated. Siege mentality is all well and good but in this case it is very, very false.
Its certainly better than fighting relegation I'd agree.
Plain stupidity.
Havent you already said this once in this absurd 'battle cry' ?
Well, erm, you aint. Not exactly rocket science.
Emulating the greats ? Are you not embarassed by this post ? You're in your first final for 8 years and now you're 'emulating the greats'. Funny stuff.
Yawn.
There will be a large crowd support for both sides. Lets not get carried away.
Nonsense, utter nonsense. It would mark a return from being distinctly average to being a competitor. Welcome to the big boys table, its been a while.
Nice ending but still pretty much utter nonsense. Try and convince yourselves all you like that the rugby world hates you, they dont. For the last 5 years we've pretty much not even noticed you. Alas youre back competing where a club the size of Wigan should be (and should never have been away from really, only pathetic management saw you plumb ridiculous depths).
'"
Mate, why is it bothering you?
Seriously ... what are you doing on here if you're going to be upset by Wigan fans tub-thumping the day before their first Cup Final in eight years?
What do you expect - that we'll all be sitting around analyising painful 'truths', maybe expressing a belief that we don't deserve to be in it?
You really do talk crap at times. Attitudes like yours - "we're the real deal, and we've seen it, done it, shagged it etc" - only serve to show that you lot have been at the top too long and that it's time for a change.
If BillyRhino, who a few of us have had crossed words with recently (me especially - rather pointlessly I'm now ashamed to admit) can offer heartfelt good wishes for the big game, why can't you?
You offer some fair comments, but the bulk of your post is snide trolling. A very poor effort, even by your standards - and worthy of some scorn as it shows that a feelgood factor in Wigan is something you just can't abide.

| Quote: cadoo "How much would beating Saints mean to me?
Of course it would mean a lot. Saints are our greatest rivals and any victory over Saints brings ecstasy to the Wigan RL masses.
But this game is so much more.
It's not just Saints we would beat. It would be our critics, the taunters, the people who laugh in the face of Wigan RL. The people who believe we are no longer a force. The people who think we are finished in RL. The people who think we will never reclaim our dominance in RL. The people who think we are no longer famous. The people who think we are cheats. The people who think the club is a disgrace. The people who spit vile envious bile every time our name is mentioned.
Saturdays game is not just 80 minutes of rugby league. It is a chance to bury the demons that this club has had to endure. It is a chance to banish the dark memories of the near relegation season. A chance to put to bed the fans who taunt we are no longer Wigan RL. A chance to rightfully put to bed the taunts that we are no longer the towns number one sport.
It is also a chance to build what Mike Gregory was trying to build. A chance to reclaim the passion shown by previous teams. Sean Edwards, Dean Bell, Andrew Farrell.
A chance to reclaim the big one. The major trophy. The trophy that has eluded us since 1998. A chance to put behind us the semi-final heartbreak at Widnes. A chance to put behind us the Gareth Hock saga. A chance to put behind us the poor form last year, to shut up the critics, to silence the WAFC public, a chance to silence the ones that claim we are no longer a top force.
Some say Wigan RL is not the club it was. We are not as strong as before.
But if we can come out of Saturdays game with a victory we will prove to the RL masses that we are stronger than ever before. That we are building a team capable of emulating previous great, great Wigan sides. A team capable of living up to the legends of Billy Boston, Sean Edwards and Andy Farrell. A team that will go out there every week fighting not against the opposition, no. A team that is fighting against the mere possibility of losing in a Wigan RL shirt. A team that is not just representing themselves. A team that is representing Wigan RL. A team that is representing everything that has made this great club what it is today.
Saturday's game is more than just a game. It is a chance to banish the horrors and the heartache of past seasons. A chance to rightfully put our name back up their as one of the top sides. A chance to repay the loyal, thousands of supporters that still turn up to get behind our lads every week.
Now I can't guarantee a Wigan win on Saturday. We all can't guarantee a Wigan win on Saturday. But one thing we can guarantee. Is that our lads wont go into battle with 17 men. No. That every supporter wears their heart on their sleeve and gets behind them boys like there is no f--kin tomorrow! To make sure that 17 men don't go onto the pitch alone. No. The 18th man is right behind them! All the way!
Saturday's game for me is a chance to be up their in an iconic moment of Wigan's history. Like the first challenge cup victory. Like the 1985 cup win over Hull. Like the victory in Brisbane when our boys were lining up to silence as our national anthem was played. Like the team that went and beat Manly. Like the team that won the challenge cup eight times in succession. Like the team that won the very first Grand Final. It would mark a turning point in the history of Wigan RL.
Saturday's game is more than just a game. It is a chance to turn things around.
Give it your all boys and make us all feckin proud!
COME ON WIGAN!!!!!!!!!!!'"
Wow! How big is that chip on your shoulder.
Just get yourself there, get behind your team and cheer them on. What will be will be.
Hope it is a great game, one that the RFL and the rugby league world can be proud of. (Whoever wins - the trophies will stay this side of the pennines this season - that's were they belong).

Splendid speech to the troops, Cadoo. Very Churchillian.
The first mon from Saints clearly doesn't understand what that kind of thing is all about, and showed his ar2e in a big way.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

Kind of the same for me, I remember part of the glory days but was 7 in 92 when I started watching so too young to appreciate them, was 13 in 98 when we won the first GF and 17 in 2002 when we won the Challenge Cup but I really did appreciate that. With age I have become more an avid fan and with trophies being scarce since 2002 and all we have been through the last 4 or 5 years this would really be the best day of my life so far, also it gives us a crack at the Aussies if we did win and another chance for another fully bonifide trophy.

| Brilliant initial post, and tartanstain can mock all he likes but he's never going to cut much ice on here.
I said back in 2006 that whenever the next trophy win comes it will make all those sleepless nights worthwhile and once we started to turn things round I always thought it would be sooner rather than later.
I've followed this club for 35 years now, have been through the bad and good times but the first half of that season was as low as it got for me. Likewise if we can pull it off tomorrow I will probably end up crying like a baby - For my nine year old son who lives and breathes the game and has seen nothing but semi final defeats so far, for Terry Newton and his family, especially his dad Tony who is as good a bloke I have ever met, and for the sheer delight at being on the verge of something big once again.
If we lose I'll just get drunk and look forward to next season.

We've had some run in's but amazingly I agree with most of what you've said! Thought I felt rather ill today.
I came on here expecting exactly this kinda thing, people can say what they like about Wigan fans but they are among the most passionate around and quite rightly should be expected to be well up for the game tomorrow after what you've been through the past few years.
I hate all this we're the real deal talk that comes from Saints fans it will count for absolutely nothing tomorrow and If you go back a few years it's pretty obvious that you were the real deal, you were the real deal in 1998 didn't bother Sheffield Eagles much!
I've got mates who are Wiganers and I'm pleased for them that you are back in a final, and on one very basic level there is no more fitting game than the games 2 biggest clubs going at it for the title in Keiron's last game. These sorta games are what Rugby League is all about, I'll probably see my Wigan mates tomorrow, have a drink, have a laugh and then go and enjoy the game, Once again that's what it's all about instead of the stupid sniping of certain people that occurs on here. If the events of last weekend have taught us nothing else it should be that.
As for best wishes....... Well.... You can have them till the 79th minute when Keiron Goes over for the winner! Enjoy your day.
