Fact is that his "brain" wasn't there.

By the same token that he had raw talent, he didn't have the intelligence to nurture it.

In other words, one way or another, he simply did not have the ability. Lockers is the opposite, not much raw ability but you simply have to admire the work ethic.

I've known bobbie for years and to say he had no brain is utter rubbish!

He had the complete rugby brain, he was the perfect scrumhalf.

He had everything but let him self down off the field.

He never had the pace to be a top class scrum half, brain yes, pace no.
Also his attitude at training and off the field let him down (Lee Briers is another prime example)

You're the coach in the Challenge Cup Final / Grand Final and you have to pick Edwards or Goulding. Who do you pick and why?

Rubbish. If he had a brain, he would have applied himself and gone onto better things.

I'm not talking about a "rugby brain" here, I am talking about the "whole" brain.

They're not world beaters but I think they would get a game for pretty much any other team in super league right now.

I can't agree that Myler has any more pace than Goulding had, certainly not compared to the other two. Tomkins and Eastmond are like lightning, but Myler is very pedestrian.

That said, he has one advantage over Goulding. He's not a total w****r. Granted, he acts a bit like one now and then, but he's young and hopefully his gaffers will kick that out of his head at some point. Goulding poisoned the atmosphere of every club he went to. I've not heard that about Myler. So he's +1 on that score.

At the risk of angering St Pete and getting offered out again via PM, Bobby had 2 great qualities, to think he was better than he was and annoy his team mates.

Thinking about it and idiotic behaviour to be fair I can understand why St Pete and Bobby are such great mates.

Goulding = legend in his own lunch time and his own worst enemy in Rugby League.

Myler has bags of pace.

hi ya ,just in my room puttin micks underpants on .no hes on the bench again for another wembley outing ,not a bad un eh 2 finals on the bounce when only played 2 games with injury ,smith must rate him ,just a pity noble didnt at the time ,but hes a top coach in he hahahaha ,must addmit your new man got you playin .only need get rid of this ridddal man and your not far off the mark ,you wont win it mind you, but at least you got the little plate to look at .

He also picked a 1 legged Senior in 2005 & blew that one!

He also took 1/2 dozen donkeys to OZ in 2008 and blew that one!

I think the reason he may have "Had" to pick Myler is more to do with Mylers failings than Higham's ability!
