Does the stadium need to be built by 2012 to gain a license?'"
Both were talking about new stadiums in 2009. So in two years very little has been accomplished stadium wise by Cas and Wakey.
At least Saints and Salford have begun ground work at there respective new grounds.

Thr RFL say a team will be dropping out, what if both cas and wildcats start the build by 2012?
Frpm their comments, do they know some team ain't going to get the new staduim.
The point im making, the RFL may be a little early in saying a team will drop out on the basis of stadium being built, both teams may be well into the build when the current license runs out.

The RFL aren't saying it though, its my opinion. If they have started building a stadium by the time the licenses are coming around then it will change, but as it stands neither of them is anywhere near building a stadium. And surely it takes a couple of years at least to get planning permission, funds, plans etc etc.

| as it stands at the moment , i would bin both wakey and cas
wakey are just a very poor team and offer very little , there is also the ground issue
cas , the ground is a disgrace , best part of £20 to stand on crumbling terraces next to the gents , this brings its own unique ''flavour''
cas will not get another penny of my money again , untill the new ground is up and running at least
there is also the issue of both clubs away support ?
what do they bring when they are playing away , on this level they are comparable with quins

Then it will be too late as the franchise application needs to be in by April 2011.

| Wakefield to go for me. Reasons for this are:
1. Team - not got the team to be competitive and dont seem to have the resources or right development strategies in place to be competitive in the future
2. Can't attract the crowds in a rugby league heartland - even against Wigan with half price ticket offers ground half empty (although this could change with new stadium if ever built) - maybe too much competitions from other nearby teams
3. poor away support (not on their own there though)
4. Poor ground
5. Last but not least John 'the watching paint dry' Kear expert on the fine arts of rugby league.

Points 2, 3 and 4 also apply to Castleford in some respect (Not so much 2, but their crowds still aren't brilliant).
On that basis, and as Wakefield have performed better than Cas it'd be unfair to keep Cas in and expel Wakefield.

| i think they should just get rid of the club that finished bottom. its easier and much fairer than just picking a club to go down.

| Think Castleford edge it on crowd and if they can get a team/board of directors/coach they can believe in their potential is much better in my opinion.
If we were to be totally fair Quins should be the ones but we know thats not going to happen

| We suffer from anti-Wigan bias in the RL establishment but compared to the treatment Widnes have had over the years we have got off lightly!
Widnes have been very harshly treated by the RL authorities. Take for example the decision not to admit them to SL last time, apparently due to the conduct of the previous Widnes board. What a ridiculous decision that was. You don't punish the old board by doing that, you punish the fans. If the RL was serious about stamping out maladminstration they should do something like taking personal guarantees from directors so that they can impose financial penalties.
Its time for the wrongs to be righted and Widnes to be awarded a licence.
I'd boot Wakey out simply because their stadium plans are and always have been farcical at best.

| Get rid of both Wakefield and Castleford until they get their s in gear by increasing gates and getting the grounds sorted.
Also give Hull KR a serious warning about their ground, get Leeds to get a roof on the away end, they can't build one have you seen how the new cricket stand stands over the houses. It's a joke of a ground for a top team. Also get Bradford warned and to get some work done. And get Salford warned, but I will reserve judgement until they have their new ground.
Get the rot out.
