Oh i'd forgotten that pass, was a shocker, and I'll never know what he was thinking with that kick through. Really like Joel and think he's played some fantastic stuff this season.

| How any Wigan fan can deny that late cheap shot wasn't worth a sin bin I don't know. It wasn't the only time either, the last 2 or 3 tackles of the game he was swinging a stiff arm into the people he was tackling, he's a fantastic player but he needs to calm down when things aren't going his teams way.

I didn't see it so I am not going to argue about it but if he gave a cheap he probably thought he wasn't going to get sin-binned anyway because Silverwood was clearly not going to sin-bin anyone if he wouldn't sin-bin players for taking the kicker out twice within a very short space of time.
If refs don't clamp down on dirty play then it's going to go on all match from both sides and it did. Silverwood is rubbish and I'd bet if he had refereed last week the Salford player would not have walked.

Just for correctness it wasn't the kicker but a player after they had passed the ball (which Tomkins (the hillbilly looking one (that doesn't realy narrow it down does it)) also got done for.).

| Joel hurt us big style last night; too many stupid and needless penalties. As I said after the match, he needs to be a lot smarter in these big games because he was a liability yesterday, and Warrington knew it, and were probably wise enough to wind him up further.
He's been outstanding this season, and I wouldn't swap him for any other up and coming SL back rower since let's not forget, he's still just a kid, but he let his heart rule his head yesterday and ended up having a bit of a shocker.

| Quote: Steve Ella's Beard "Joel did do some dirty play mate, i'll freely admit it.'"
i actually didn't pick up on this at the game (too pumped up) but i watched the replay last night, and lost count of the amount of house tactics that he did, which is surprising cos i've never had him down as that sort of player.
The two main ones for me, obviously the ing elbow drop on richie after he scored. there was no need or legit explanation he could give for that, ball was down, he didn't go to tackle or 'prevent' him grounding, he does went for his head while he was lay on his back.
The other one, after mathers 'faceplant' which was unusual in itsself, mathers ended up upside down away from the ball sliding on his head and neck. Joel decided to again launch himself full weight to land on top of him, not even contesting the ball which was long gone. so it wasn't even a 50/50 quick decision, it was a blatant attack on mathers.
Disapointing, if it were one of our players (and i've had to sit and watch Nikau and brendan tuuta housing for us) i'd be shaking my head.

No morley nailed both S. Tomkins and Tommy after they'd kicked the ball, which a few weeks ago was an automatic sin binning, but not last night. Silverwood did penalise some late hits on passers though.
Joel didn't jump on mathers after his acrobatics at all, besides from his position mathers probably looked like he had the ball (he bloody should have had!) The late hit on myler was a bit sly though.

| A bit sly, it was a late elbow in the face on a player who was lying defenceless on the ground.

And how any wire fan cannot see you should have been down to 12 men i dont know 2 head high shots from Morley both with intent Coley got a red and 2 games for the same sort of thing. Push in the back from Myler is that not worth 10 in the bin and they are just 2 of the blatant shots not the niggley ones in the tackle.

No what was blatant was that mathers should have had the ball, not start doing roly pollys.

Come off it. All that did was prevent Wire getting a repeat set.
I agree Warrington were very dirty last night, but since Silverwood decided to ignore even the most blatant of penalties, I just wish we had been equally as sh*thouse in the tackle. We lost that game because we weren't prepared to be as physical as them in the tackle, and that's not on.

That was fantastic. A proper bit of biff. But biff is different from dropping on a player's head half an hour after they have scored a try. It wasn't the only occasion when Joel Tomkins was a naughty boy in that match either. But I guess you are right. They will be distracted by watching that fight. I mean, disciplining all those badly behaved young men.

You lost the game because you didn't use all the ball we gave you in the first 25 minutes. In respect of foul play, have a look at the seasons stats about penalties. Silverwood did ignore the most blatent of penalties, that was the ultra cheap shot by Joel Tomkins on Myler.
You lost because you didn't take your chances.
