Yeah youve won loads of challenge cups havent you? You cant be constantly winning if your only winning 50% of the seasons trophies can you? You must be losing somewhere along the line.
The reason we get excited is the same we do for every game is because we want to win whether its League, cup, Playoffs, friendly or whatever. Top clubs want to win everything not just pick and choose.

over and out.....
pemps
Until you average more fans at home, go away you annoying little child. This thread has nothing to do with Warrington at all, nobody has criticised their support so why bring them into it. Get over last years semi, its getting boring now the same old argument. Of course we can criticise Leeds if they have only sold 4000 for their home game.....

Like I said though we are not winning only 50% of the trophies, we are winning the only one that really matters. That's a big difference.
The Challenge Cup is like the old Yorkshire/Lancashire cups, if you win it fine and yes as with any winner you celebrate it, but as long as you win the big one who really gives a 5h1t. And that is basically what it means to us.

and thats the problem with the CC, supporters attitude towards it. Im not saying thats wrong but its quite sad that less and less fans seem to care about it. I doubt the players feel the same though.

I agree with you, and especially your point with the players, more so the Australian players, who in all honesty probably see the CC as the bigger trophy. That been because they have no such trophy to compete for in Aus.
But to fans, especially since switching it so close to the GF, and playing the rounds so long apart, it just does not have the same appeal.

Don't confuse Leeds' fans attitudes towards winning it with general attitudes towards winning it.
Leeds fans like to pretend they don't care because they keep failing. You can guarantee there would be a different party line had they lifted the cup a few times and you can be damn sure the Leeds players want to play at Wembley.

Well sure, the players and fans would love a trip to Wembley and we wont deny we would like to win the CC this year.
BUT if it was a choice between the CC and winning 4 in a row then it's simple. GF wins everytime. That's the point - CC is a nice desirable extra but GF is what you're rememberd for....
Surely as a Saints fan you can fully relate to this in recent years??!

| i don't think anyone would question weather the league and grand final are worth more than the cup.
I think the op is just suprised that the home team has only sold 4000 tickets, but given the circumstances, the limited capacity and bbc coverage, i can see why people would be put off.
I wish it would have been at home, i recon it'd have been chocker...

You winning the GF has nothing to do with us winning the cup or otherwise, and everything to do with being the better team on the day.
Unless you can prove to me that Meli is day-dreaming about Wembley when he makes his annual gaffes.

Thats quite an obvious statement to make for a fan of a team who choke when it's the big one, but have won the CC. I wouldn't have expected anything else.
But I am 100% sure your attitude would be different had you not been GF chokers, and had actually been as honourable winners like the Rhinos have been in this never to be repeated GF run.

| From the Leeds siteHowever, with 3,000 tickets still unsold for the game there is a danger that Rhinos fans could be out numbered by Wigan supporters on their own patch. '"
