| Quote Phuzzy="Phuzzy"As you aren't trolling, could you please share the great insight and wisdom with us lesser mortals as to what leads you to believe this will happen to Wigan? Could it be because Leeds have started slowly? As I remember, you weren't suggesting this when Leeds started well last year.'"
We have started pretty well but I think we will get even better, weve had spells of class in games that have blown teams away. If we can manage to develop that over the season and put it all together in 80 mins weve got as good a chance as anybody.
Leeds are just hoping any praying that we will fall apart because weve got them worried.

I agree. It's totally ridiculous to suggest we have "peaked too early", not least because we haven't even peaked yet! We are playing well, but I've yet to see a team (injuries aside) that plays it's best rugby in the first few weeks of the season! There's no reason on God's Earth that you can't start well and finish well in [uany[/u sport. In fact, just as Leeds did last year.

Leeds have peaked and eased off and peaked again in the last few seasons. IMHO all teams have to have periods were training and prep is less intense! it's a well know tactic in the game. I think wigan will ease off at some point, you have points in the bag so can. Maguire seems like too smart a coach to flog them too early! but with trappings of the cup it can be hard as Leeds, saints, hudds and wire have found.

We had a thread about it this last year on SS
Before the Cas match (Aug 14th) at HQ McClennan said on radio Leeds that the Leeds coaching staff had targeted that game before the season started (peak conditioning etc revolved around this date) as the run in to the GF, this was only 2 weeks after we got beat by Wigan and very lucky to beat wire at home by 2 points, It may just be coincidence but we won the next 7 games (Inc GF) with a +197 points in just 7 games.

There's no doubt at all that we'll have a dip in form somewhere in the season. Who knows, maybe even sooner than later. It's good to have the points on the board for when that happens though!

no things dont look good for feka.
MM has changed his style of play. Hes slimmed him, and he doesnt have the same impact going forward, but hes being used more as a tackling machine, but its not working imo.
the other props are better at that , hence hes droped.
i say bulk him back up and use him as an impact player, albeit in short bursts. He used to take a lot out of oppo defenses, sadly now he doesnt.

All teams have dips in form but if you go out of the cup earlier I think maguire will ease back training and prep for a period to have you ready for the play offs. If your in the cup you can't really do it. Leeds going out of the cup before saints has been a blessing for us over the last few seasons.

I know what you're saying and probably a favour in terms of the GF but I don't think going out of the cup early is ever a good thing. There are only 3 pieces of silverware in the regular season, including the league leaders shield, and I think everyone connected to a club, be it fans, players, coaching staff or whoever, would want to see their team in with a shout of all of them.
