Which is exactly what happened.

Can't fault his attitude, just needed a bit more common sense.

He played tonight like he had a big target on his forehead. "Please hit".

Good footballer in open space but not an RL player. If he was 7 years younger then he would have a chance. It's a bit too much to learn at 35.

Needs to work on his body position in contact looked to be hunting the ground rather than driving into the contact and looking to bust, very much a unionism, promising debut thus far looked hungry and on the 1 occasion he did stand tall in contact took some putting down.

Hope he comes back in the second spell, after a rest and a bit of hopefully someone coaching him on his drive.

To be fair to him he did spend a good few times out in union with major head trauma because he was too brave trying to find the deck to get the ball back in impossible situations.

Nothing he has not experienced before but hopefully with a bit of good coaching not something he will have to go through too often again.

So basically he is screwed given the staff at Crusaders. icon_wink.gif

Dont talk daft, he took it in a good few times and as I expected went hunting for work, the issue is his body position. Its not a matter of being able to "handle it" Ronny Gibbs would have been in a bad way had he ever carried the ball into contact like that.

Utter tripe.

He got hit early on and bounced right back.

Cat's pack are not exactly something to laugh at.

Fair play to him for his attitude, it's his technical abilities that are off the mark atm.

As Jonh said it's his body position that needs work.

Some of the things that he does "naturally" in RU don't translate. Simple as that.

I just worry that he is too old to learn the game.

That was his problem, again trying to be too brave, he should have stayed down, but wanted to get a quick play the ball. Inexperience on his part and no doubt it will be a steep learning curve, but mentally and physically i think he will handle it.

isn't that what Jonathan Davies said was the hardest thing to adjust to when he started ?

I still stand by that he couldnt handle it, he was thrown in way too early - he wasnt even running the ball in right so he clearly doesnt know the game enough to be playing super league. Crusaders have been so desperate in trying to get the publicity and bring the crowds in that they havent handled him correctly, even Dwane Chambers had a better RL debut!
