LOads of thanks to fellow fans for the information posted in answer to my query. In the event, we thought we would just see how the traffic was on the M60 then if it was really bad approaching the M61 we would use of of the other suggested routes.

As it turned out the traffic was OK, so we went via M61 and Junction 6, then though Wigan centre to the Ground. Coming back was a bit longer as we hit the Bolton traffic but all in all OK, and felt a lot better knowing about a few alternatives if it got really sticky.

Apart from the first half I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to the JJB (DW) stadium and will be going again whenever I can as an away supporter from now on.
