He got a great reception at the end, which he fully deserved.

Thankyou Brian eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif

Quote: cadoo "Thanks Brian for everything you have done at Wigan. Keeping us up in 2006 and moving the club forward again. IMO you've took us as far as you could and I agree with IL's decision that it is time for a change.

Nice touch at the end of the game saying we were the number one fans. All the best at Celtic Crusaders.'"

I thought he was saying he was here for another year? icon_eek.gif

Does that mean we are better than Bradford fans then? icon_smile.gif

23 - 20 - 4 Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png

Thank you Brian. The pressure is certainly on IL to deliver now!

Thanks for 2006. Pity about 2007, 08 and 09.

Harsh, very harsh, but (5 semi final defeats) sadly true.

Thanks Brian, I don't think anybody could fault you for lack of effort or commitment to overhauling the club.

All the best for the future, I think parting will work out the best for all concerned.

Good reception at the end but massively OTT IMO!! I mean, theres only on Brian Noble...come on!!

Nobles done a good job, steadyied the ship but for me theres massive comparisons with Noble and Maurice Bamford in terms of their time with wigan.

Both nice yorkshire blokes, who did a job and steadied the ship in difficult times, but did nothing more than doing a job. Both can motivate well and are decent man managers as well as appearing to be decent chaps, but in terms of coaching ability and tactical awareness, both have limited ideas.

Thanks for everything Brian but its time to move on now.....5 semi final defeats in the last 3 years may be success for other clubs but for a team like wigan that's a failure and we have to expect better!

Hopefully McGuire will do this and can take us to the next level, ready for the messiah to return as our next coach in 3-5 years!

Thank you Brian for the last three and half years - you are a man of integrity and honesty and I will always remember you for these qualities. You also saved our team from certain relegation whilst getting us to 5 semi finals in the following 3 seasons. Again I thank you for that and the roller coaster ride that went with it. Some teams in Super League would give their right hand for that kind of success.

I wish you all the best for your future.

But we move on with a new coach - as yet unamed - who will be under enormous pressure. Ian Leneghan has pinned his colours firmly to the mast on this one - nothing less than a final appearance will be good enough next year.

I can't wait.................

We discussed at the end of the game wheather we thought Nobby leaving was the correct call and it was a mixed bag amoungst our group.

My view is/was that all Wigan fans should thank him for the job he's done but maybe it's time to move on. He came in 06 with us in a sorry state and very quickly seemed to sort the club from top to bottom but the problem is we've not moved forward since after about 6 months of his spell with us. He got us sorted within 6 months of taking over but we've not improved as a side since imo.

We've lost 5 semi finals under him and last night was possibly a chance to put that demon to bed and get more then a fair share of Wigan fans on his side for staying but yet again we came up a touch short.

Thanks for the hardwork Brian and for putting the club back together and giving us a team we can at least be proud of 'some' of the time but the times just right for a parting of the ways.

Correct

And I can't understand why certain fans can't do it with a bit of Class and yet instead can't resist other "Cheap Shots" at the man.

Pretty much sums up what I think tbh. He has got us to a point where I think we are ready to challenge again, unforunately for him I think we need that little bit of something different to take us to the next level.

The sympathy for him from my point comes from the way a man of his class and integrity appears to have been treated and given no credit from those above for his achievements, however minor in some peoples eyes.
