Sam on the bench. Piggy starts. TL plays HB then hooker until Piggy's second spell. This way Sam gets about an hour, which is quite enough for Nobby IMO.

Why not give him a shot?
I would put a healthy bet he could do a better job at six than Martin Gleeson.
He could be a gem for us and we might not need a new halfback.'"
Sounds like he could do a good job.
I never realised he played rep football all the way up to 19 at stand off!!!
We are majorly struggling at the moment to find a 6 or 7 and it’s defo worth a shot imo as if it pays off we are quids in.
Just another reason why Phelps has to stay for next season for me.

Realistically Noble won't bring in Sam Gee.
The only decisions I'm struggling with are whether to play Pryce or Ainscough on the wing and whether to play Farrell or Flanagan.
Roberts
Richards
Carmont
Gleeson
Pryce
Phelps
Tomkins
Coley
Leuluai
Prescott
Bailey
Mossop

Ainscough has not hit any form in the reserves and Rogues admitted that he shouldn't be back in the first team.
However Pryce has never looked comfortable on the wing.
Tough decision.
Mark Flanagan and Liam Farrell. Well Flanagan has had the most experience in the first team and with his loan spell at Halifax. Could also cover at six and loose forward and I think he went on loan as a second row forward so he might edge Liam Farrell. But Liam Farrell has put in some outstanding performances in the reserves I believe and is the player most in form.
For utility purposes as Flanagan has played at stand off, hooker, Second row and Loose forward I would go with Mark Flanagan.

He was christened Cameron and not Pat, either that or his middle name is Amos.

| Gonna suggest something else...
Maybe Phelps at 7? 6 or 7 doesn't make a difference with split halves. If we keep Sam at 6 he can run off the back of Phelps attacking the line as a second receiver, which he has proven to be quality.
Phelps has more experience, so maybe let him run the game from a first receiver 7? Either which way it seems like a good time to give the Phelps/Tomkins HB pairing a go.

The only problem I would have with that team is Darrell Goulding on the wing. He made his debut there for Salford and had a torrid time against Les Catalans - our next opponents.

He's played 8 of his 9 Salford games on the wing, and he's in good form so I reckon it makes sense to play him there rather than change both his team and position in one fell swoop. He must be doing something right there, perhaps it was just a bad debut. Plus his strike rate's pretty decent at 5 tries from 9 games (4 tries from 8 games on the wing).

Just don't see why he would get into the team when we have
-Phelps
-Geeson
-Carmont
-Pat
-Roberts
-Pryce
-Ainscough
-Bailey
8 players to cover the 3/4 line, even with injuries and players moving positions we have plenty cover.

3076_1671446335.jpg SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS
For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.
For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg |

| We don't need to change the whole team around.
The back line can stay the same as Friday. If Gleeson is fit then that's a bonus.
Replace Locky with Joel Tomkins at 13 and bring Mossop in to replace Hanson.
Back three
So that gives us
Phelps
Roberts
Pryce (Gleeson if fit)
Carmont
Richards
Sam
Tommy
Coley
Riddell
Prescott
Bailey
Mossop
Joel
Subs
Fielden
Feka
Flanagan
Goulding (Pryce if Gleeson is fit)
I'd liked to have Sam Gee in there but somehow can't see Noble doing it.

Because he's earned his chance from his time on loan, and I think it's good for academy morale if players go away on loan then come back to make the team rather than being shipped out to Widnes or wherever. Players like Thornley, Farrell, Flanagan etc will look at Joel Tomkins, Lee Mossop and Darrell Goulding and think that it can be good for your Wigan carear to get loaned out to another club.
