| Quote: post "If Noble were to go I know a lot of people want an experienced coach but we want an experienced coach that isn't out of touch with the modern game. By that I mean I don't want Hagan or Murray.
The only coach I would have instead of Noble would be Edwards (Farrell Assisstant), Brian Smith, Wayne Bennett, Des Hasler, Tim Sheens, Craig Bellamy, Phil Gould, Justin Morgan, Nathan Brown. And whoever came I would give the assistant role to Shaun Wane.
I am not convinced by Adrian Lam, he is assistant at Sydney Roosters to Brad Fittler who himself is really struggling and learning and failing so not the best apprenticeship to serve for Lam. Like someone said earlier maybe taking a chance on a coach who had worked under Bennett or Smith.'"

Would you have been in a cup semi, had a good run of results recently with Cullen still in charge?
but TS was available whereas there are no world class coaches available at the moment, you'll have to wait till the end of the season or get a temporary coach neither of which will benefit Wigan greatly, sticking with noble would be better than bringing someone in at this point in the season.
With TS it was right at the beginning of the season, so not a major overall really.

| People who talk of Noble leaving simple you want this club to become worst!
Yes I see your point, fresh coach, freash ideas, freash start, how many times do we try this, before it clicks it doesn't work?
Take the words of an ex-players autobiography
" Coaches arrived, each with a two or three plan, but they didn't get the full time to excerise the plan, I had eleven coaches in 13 years, which is a crazy number. The cutlure of the club eroded - and it was not one coach's fault. It was a graudal and inexplicable shift, from the Wigan I joined to the Wigan I left. "
Remove the inconsistency within this squad and it'll improve by far, stick with him, 12month deal, to work with the new props and half.

At least point out why not. Don't do the easy thing and just say no, explain your reasons please?

How would you go about doing this? Noble has been at it 3 years now and we are more inconsistent than ever......in fact i take that back, we are consistently bad with fewer good performances than ever.

I do see the point but if it's only Noble's blame that is daft, the whole backroom staff have an involvement with the players throughout the week, if Noble was to go, then the whole lie of staff should too., but then we'll be back were we started again, possibly get four to five weeks of good performances, whilst the new buzz of the staff are around, soon to die.

Hi Brian
How about this
Quote: The Sneak ""We had probably taken a bit of pressure away from ourselves with what we'd been doing over the last few weeks but we've heaped it all back on again." '"
Fri 15 May Hull Kingston Rovers Home L12 - 20
Fri 22 May Warrington Wolves Away L16 - 8
Fri 29 May Salford City Reds Home W 28 - 6
Fri 05 Jun Salford City Reds Home W 34 - 18
Sat 13 Jun Celtic Crusaders L22 - 16
Hardly setting the world alight - 2 wins at home to Salford..?
Quote: The Sneak ""I know Wigan fans will say, 'Hang on a minute, Brian. There are no trophies in the cabinet'.
'"
No we're not, we're saying we have lost 10 games and won 7. Should other teams win their games in hand over Wigan and we would be next to bottom with Celtic and Salford.

Again I see your point, but it's not just Noble.
The season is far from over, it's only over when the table shows us in 9th or below come the end. Still in the cup, still in with a shout of GF action, adding we do perform in the big games, so we do have the chance. What else do you ask? Apart from the impossible - a far higher place in the table with a poor squad list, which isn't worthy of that place in the first place, Noble is doing I'd say a good job, with the players he has.

I agree the entire backroom must go, in my opinion they are all failing with the senior squad.
I said from the moment we recruited BN he was not the man to take us forward, we have to appoint a strong character as well as a good coach. BN was never that man, a coach that has the right character will not see the buzz die off.
If this occurred with every new coach no coach would ever get sacked, it just happens at Wigan we have recruited poorly with the last 2 coaches.
Greg was the last coach to make a positive mark on the club, because of his character and his coaching, we need the total package not another lightweight.

If I'd have asked you in 2007, you would have said inconsistancy was our biggest problem.
If I'd have asked you in 2008 you'd have said inconsistancy was our biggest problem
If I'd have asked you in 2009 you'd have said inconsistancy was our biggest problem
Ok, so thats 3 full seasons of inconsistancy. If Noble is the man to remove the inconsistancy, then why has he not done it?
In Nobles time as coach, EVERYTHING has changed, players, owners, EVERYTHING Yet we have the same old problems. I'm sorry Brian, the last few weeks have tipped me over the edge.
The only consistant thing at wigan is the inconsistancy. I've got more chance of winning the lottery that predicting which wigan will turn up on game day.

| I think one of the reasons Wigan are in the situation they're in, is the rate that they go through coaches, it's been an embarrassment in the past. We need a steady club first, then we can improve on team performances.
If I remember correctly, we were on the verge of relegation when Noble arrived, so we're definatley in a better position now.
We're currently in the play-off zone, and the semis of the cup!
Chin up!

You mean the rate we used to go through coaches. At the end of this year Nobby will have been in place for 3 and a half years. Who has done longer than that in SL with the same club? IMO if we decide not to renew his contract after this season we cannot be accused of dumping another coach.
