| Our staying up was due to the three, Noble, Fielden & Dobson.

Do you want me to remove the hook?
On a serious note though.
Do you think maybe noble did the job he did at the bulls was due to the team he took over?
The bulls was a big strong tough team when he took charge.
Just maybe he not as good as people thought.

| With Ian Mcgeechan getting the boot at Wasps there could be a certain Mr Edwards available if the new coach wants to bring his own back room staff in

No it wasn't - I am certain they all played their part and their arrivals boosted the club but the major factors in our survival were all the injuries clearing up at once, and fielding the same side in about the last 12 matches straight, which also co-incided with about 9 of them being at home - had half been away we could well of been relegated.
To give credit to those three only shows a complete disrespect for the likes of Scott Logan, Bryan Fletcher, Danny Orr etc and the efforts 1 - 17 put in.

Come off it wigan was never going to go down.
Even if millward stayed wigan would have stayed up.
It was just 1 of them seasons wigan was having.
I bet he would have done a good job in the end.

| Edwards is safe at Wasps.
He's the hottest coaching property in Union.

| Would be a great move for Noble and a position as director of Rugby in my opinion is bar far the best option for him. He has done a great job stabalising the club nd putting the infrastructure into place for us to kick on, as a direct coch i do not think he has the ability to take us to the next level but there is no doubt the work he has done in a non coaching role has left the club in a much better state than when he arrived.

Sorry for the delay been out but this was posted earlier in the week so i think it speaks volumes
As half-time last night was the halfway point of the regular season, time for an update - Noble's win % for SL regular round games:
2006 - 61% (season was 43%)
2007 - 56%
2008 - 48%
2009 - 43%
So we're basically on a par with our "flirting with relegation" season at the moment, out of the top 8 having generally played 2 more games than the majority of teams - great.
Seems like regression to me, but perhaps im wrong.
I dont think he should be sacked, but i dont think he should be head coach at the club next year! I think he done a lot of good work (off the field), but in nearly 25 years of watching us 2006 including, we are as bad as i have seen us! Dont let a couple of good results cloud the vision, yes we beat saints, but thats once in how long?

| I could see why an NRL team would want Noble and i believe his style of coaching would suit the NRL.
I'm torn on his situation here. We never start seasons well which is a fact and until we do we're not going to win a grand final and thats what everybody wants really. On the plus side he seems to have changed our style drastically recently and has started to play to the players abilities at his disposal which has been great to see.
I've always said i believe his big test and a fair test of his coaching ability will come in 2010 when he'll have totally his own squad free of salary cap restrictions with plenty of depth to it.
Wheather he'll be here for that test who knows.

I would be stunned if an NRL club wanted him as a coach. Despite the line that the NRL is dull etc it is the most fast paced skilled rugby in the world. The 2 ref system would ensure Noble could not get awy with slowing the PTB like he does here, and given the way we used Barrett in his time here basically waisting him and his ability i do not think it would be a very good appointment or one he would be offered.

You seam to have a very selective memory when Noble came we were bottom of the league by a long way and only looking for quick fixes.
Noble took us to just outside the top 6 that year then to within 80mins of a Grand final for 2 years running.
He has got rid of the quick fix scenario and put the club on a very stable footing.
What some forget is how hard he has worked to get a good stable side and work within the cap limits all Nobles sides have started the seasons slowly and built towards the end of the season.
Before the Hull K.R. Game we were on one of our best winning runs and what lost us that game was the panic football the team were playing in the last 20mins if the players had not wanted to score on every play and played the percentages we could well have gone on to win.
We did not play badly on Friday but we did panic in the last 20 Noble had no control over that all he could do was send out a message to them.
The resting of Tomkins was a good call as it was alway going to be a very hard hitting game in bad conditions better to save him for another day rather than possibly having him hurt and out for the rest of the season.
How anyone can say we have gone backwards under Noble is beyond me stats mean nothing its where you finish that counts also look at the whole picture all the things that have been done in the back room.
Try looking at everything that had happened not just the last game or stats tunnel vision is ok if you work in a tunnel but no good if you live in the big wide world.
