Even if he did(which i doubt tbh) thats only to be expected but it still not enough.

He made more errors for sure but he should be leading us like Peacock does Leeds. He should be arttling through 20+ carries a game, 150+ metres and 30+ tackles like Peacock does and like he used to do but he's not.........infact far far from it.

We dont give him the ball as much as Peacock, JP has played less games and been given the ball 50+ times more than Fielden. As I stated earlier we dont use our props enough look at the stats we are the only team in SL that dont yet we expect Fielden & co to rule the world. Lets help them to in turn help the backs by building a platform, all our props want the ball the only one who gets it is Feka. Fielden also make more tackles than most props also.

Fielden doesn't look for the ball like Peacock. He avoids work in attack. He does put himself about in defence but thats not where we need his main effort.

If Fielden had a spot light he still wouldn't get the ball instead he is used a the dummy runner near the line. How many times tonight did he look for the ball only for it to be passed down the line. The onlt=y time he does get the ball is when we know he is going to get smashed!!!

Christ how many excuses can we make for the poor bloke.............he doesn't get any support from the other props, bad ball from dummy half, not enough ball, he doesn't like the red kit, he doesn't like playing on Thursdays or Fridays or Saturdays or even infact Sundays.

We can't bury our heads in the sand on the Fielden issue he isn't contributing enough.

That has to change asap and if we stop making excuses for him and Noble does that can only help him.

If O'Carroll were fit he's be dropped for Monday if it were my choice.

I said it on here about 6 months ago and got slated. Stuart Fielden is shot. The guy offers absolutely nothing, I dont know if he's fell out of love with the game or what but the desire he had has gone. It's as if he cant wait to be tackled when he takes it in.

How do you know that if you dont give someone the opportunity how can you make that statement. His last 2 tries came against Bradford 5yrds out both of them. He aint going to run 30 yrds and score. Lets give him the ball and see what he can do, in the NRL and international rugby, even in SL teams give the ball to their props 5 - 10 yards out. We are the only team that dont.

We regularly give it to Coley & Feka that close. We dont give it to Fielden because he isn't interested.

The lad is done, he either has no desire to play for Wigan or RL in general, but one or the other is true.

I'm at a loss to see how any of these Fielden lovers can back him after that tonight. Anyone who studied him live today will have seen the occasional good run and his usual work rate in defence.

What he is missing is the dominance we REQUIRE from him in his role as a supposed enforcer of the pack. Is it really too hard for some people to see that he is a pale shadow of what an enforcer should be?

We pay him top dollar to be dominant in defence and hit hard, not just being happy to make a tackle and get the tick off the stats man. Defence that hurts is what we pay him for.
We pay him top dollar to be dominant in the collision and go-forward.
We pay him top dollar to be vocal and lead our players when we are under pressure, to be the shining example of what it takes to drag us forward when we are under extreme pressure.

But no, it's not his fault.
It's down to hookers who can't find the target area.
It's down to oppostion players having good footwork to put him off balance.
It's down to a lack of support from his fellow front rowers.

Although when he knocked on it looked as if the tackle was a deliberate attempt to tackle the ball, it was a loose carry where he was running sideways and away from the direction he was supposed to go i.e. forward. His reaction after it? Stood up, turned around and looked at the screen disconsolantly. That was the moment I lost any faith in him having a positive future at the club.

The last time i saw the stats they didn't look too clever tbh.

I don't want to sound like one of these moaning fans that likes to get on the backs of players because i'm not but i'm honest and will question a players preformence when i think it warrents it.

He needs to be dropped. Players can't get selected based on the name on the back of the shirt. We're paying a lot for nothing, I struggle to comprehend Noble sending Mossop out on loan when Fielden is so poor. I can only assume it's a monetary issue, presumably related to us signing Gleeson. This season Stuart Fielden to prop has been what Mathers has been to full back, but one of them has a bigger name to fall back on than the other. Give him a spell in the reserves or on loan and see if he comes good, but I doubt whether he ever will.
