| Quote: Rogues Gallery "I've just watched the first half and will watch the second tomorrow.
Leeds 1st try forward pass from Sinfield.
Leeds third try forward pas from Kirke, watch where he is tackled and watch where the ball bonces before it get's to Donald.
When things are going for you you get these decisions.
Hock loss of the ball once yes, but the other two were ball steals.
All marginal decisions, but ones that went against Wigan.
On another day they will go for us.
No lack of effort tonight. Leeds played well and took their chances, but we certainly didn't get any luck whatsoever.'"
I thougt exactly the same about the Leeds 1st and 3rd tries. The ball from Kirke is at least a couple of feet in front of him and Sinfields pass was well forward.
With a better ref it would have been a far better contest, take those two scores away and we are 6-0 down and all to play for. As it was, Leeds are too good a team to play against when you haven't got the ball.
I thought we played reasonably well overall, our defence prioe to the two very well taken 40-20's was excellent. Good skill from Leeds got them in position rather than Wigans failings, and and resulted in them having field position to exploit any mistake or piece of luck - which is what good teams do.
The 2nd half with the same rub of the green we could have been within 6 points of them, so on the whole, although disapointing I thought the performance wasn't as bad as the scoreline.

| Quote: Dave Heron's Moustache "Lines on the pitch would indicate otherwise regarding the Sinfield pass, and if you watched the game I'm sure you saw clearly that Kirke passed the ball backwards and it was knocked forward by the Wigan player tackling him. You did see that? Even Stevo saw it and commented on it and he's old and senile.
Smith let some borderline things go from both sides and kept the game moving. He went to the video ref when he needed to and got the major decisions right. I thought he had a fine game. To comapre him to the Australian baffoon who reffed the WCC is rediculous.'"
Well put.

| I'd agree with that. It was a bad day at the office. Move on.

| if and I mean "if" the game had been all square there would have been no way that peacocks would have been given. Lockers had his hand underneath it for the initial impact and then managed to drag it off the deck. Also Donald knocked on before burrows(?) try. You see his hand move from the impact of the ball.
Another question, why the bloody hell do we not use the "white line" across the screen that they use in Wendy ball to judge if a player is off side?? I would like to see if Ainscough was off side or not
Leeds were class and would have beaten us anyway, but the standard was P$%* poor last night.

Why because he didn't let you get away with your usual tricks?

We lost convincingly, to a good side. Our comments on the ref are an aside to that.'"
Oh right. At the Saints game then was you? I said on here, Hull KR deserved to win but Smith was poor, but then again a Saints fan cant be balanced can they?

Saints fan's on occasion can be, but history tells us it is a rare thing
The issue with Saints fans & Smith is tainted as after you lost a game last year, Anderson throws the toys out of the pram, and he doesn't ref you again all season. Yet another pathetic decisionfrom Scummings and one that pandered to your coach, who for all the great things he did and Saints and his enthuiasm for the game, is a terrible loser.

We all said Hull KR deserved to win, however Smith did not help one bit. He sees what he wants to see.

| If Hock's disallowed try truely wasn't a try according to the rules, then 50% of the tries in SL wouldn't be allowed.

| Just watched the recording of your game last night. Smith missed a few things and you didn't get many if any of the 50-50's but I have to say he was at least 50% better than he was when he reffed our game against HKR. Let's all hope he gets better as the season goes on. Wouldn't it be great if there was consistency with refs. At least then all games would be reffed in the same manner and teams wouldn't need to adjust their game according to who was reffing.

You say that (and it might be true) but don't you think it might have something to do with you having a Saints perspective? I thought Smith couldn't have been much worse last night.

Correct. Ian Smith also allowed Leeds to do exactly the same thing not even a minute later.

| Quote: Red Hot Jalapeno "He was absolutely shocking. No excuses it just wasnt our night and Leeds were on fire but Smith just added the icing on top of a crap night. How many times did Hock have the ball stolen in the first half yet Smith gave knock on? Those sort of things make it impossible to get into the game especially against a team like Leeds who dont need any inviting to beat you.'"
Leeds always steal the ball against Wigan. They are very clever at doing it. I posted this elsewhere BEFORE the match. Surely refs must be aware of it. Penalties make a big difference and often lead to tries so I will go as far as Wigan might have won if the ball steals had been spotted.
