| Navarette was told after Leigh game wouldn't play for Wigan again, so not a suprise and the comment at the end indicates his future
“We will continue to monitor the situation going forwards and wish Romain well for the rest of the season.”

| Reading between the lines, it seems both of them may be on the way out, Navarette after this season and Tierney when his contract runs out next year. No great loss really, especially Tierney, who is already 5th choice behind Burgess, Manfredi, Davies and Marshall for the wing spots, and 3rd choice behind Tomkins and Escare at fullback.

| The biggest news there is the "imminent" return of Manfredi. Hopefully on the wing against Leeds next week. I wonder if we have a recall option for Lewis though should Dom pick up a strain, which I think is quite common after so long out.

Not sure we will need him even if Dom gets re-injured!

| As suggested on Mikes forum . Quite possibly Manfredi was de-registered and we might need space on the Cap to bring him back .

| Shame that Navarette doesn't seem to be working out, there's definitely a good player in there somewhere.
Would be nice if Lewis plays well enough for us to get a transfer fee for him, come the end of the season. There are a few clubs in SL that are short of good wingers (including one we're playing tonight) and if he can show that he could do the business when not playing in our system, I can see there being a bit of competition for his signature.

But if Dom gets a strain we will still have Marshall and Davies, both of whom are better than Tierney. The only issue is who goes to fullback if Sam pulls up injured (I hope not).

| I think it was always on the cards for Tierney once Marshall and Davies emerged. As others have said, there are other good clubs where he could probably hold down a regular spot. It's a shame about Navarette. What is it with Wigan and developing props? They never seem to work out for us.

if that is true, then there is no surprise to me that his head has dropped, especially when i assume all of his family is back in France.

Seems harsh,he was poor in defense that game but to deem his Wigan career over so early seems harsh. I have been critical of him this season but he is raw and with good coaching could become an asset for someone.

| Navarette looked totally miffed trudging off at Leigh and I'm guessing if he was told his career at Wigan was over after that game that maybe he threw his toys out of the pram and was pinged for his attitude rather then his actual talent.

| Whatever the explanation, I just hope it means we get someone good.
And by good, I mean the finished article, someone who can step straight in and do a job for us.
it's interesting that the front row is where I feel we're weakest at present. None of our current props are real game-breakers.

Couldn't agree more.

Well, there aren't that many real game-breaking props in the game at present, and those that are are either unlikely to become available or would command a high wage. Ours are pretty good, especially when we get Flower back next season, and there are some excellent prospects coming up through the academy - not just Sutton but Field and Partington, and in a few years Kibula too.
