| I first went to a game in 1990 and as a nipper probably went to 10-15 games a year up until about 98. Since then I've probably missed no more then a couple of games per season home or away so with cup ties and play offs that must average out at 30-35 games a year.
I'd guess I must have been to around 550-600 games.
I'm closing in rapid on Jim Sullivan!

| end of last season I had 565 Programmes from matches involving Wigan and a further 75 for finals, representative matches and Internationals.
Only know this off hand as I moved house and had to get them out of the loft....the other half wanted to bin them but after I explained they were extra loft insulation and saved on heating costs I managed to keep them all....lol

| My first game was as a 9 year old in September 1964. Wigan beat Castleford 33-13 at Central Park. Scoring for Wigan were Ashton, Lake, Boston, Cliff Hill & Geoff Lyon. I was hooked. Reckon i must be at around 1200 games by now.

| First game I can remember is 4th Jan 1975 V Castleford,(web
site check) sat on the wall on popular side and we battered them.
So as a rule of thumb between 20 to 25 games per season approx 850
1980/1 was unforgettable, saw some sites to say the least, Huyton away in particular
The battle of Fartown was another, the good old days?

| How many of these games have you stayed for the full 80 though? I'm guessing most of you would be struggling to hit 3 figures. I'm joking, I'm joking.
Some great efforts there. Figure out how much money you've spent following Wigan.

| I honestly have no idea. First game was in the 88/89 season (season 26 coming up) went everywhere in the 90s, miss a max of 5 games a year with work and that. I'm easy over the 500 mark.

| First game 01/08/99 against Gateshead at Tynecastle
Second game Murrayfield 2002
Third game Old Trafford 2003
First home game JJB 2004 and regular ever since .
Although since being introduced to the Captain (13) a combination of old age and drink has made some of the past very HAZZZZY .
Next game Salford City Red's this Friday , see you all there CAN'T WAIT .
Regards , EW

| Don't think I could put a number on it, perhaps I am just too lazy to try and work it out though.
My dad is to blame really, he started taking me to games when I was about 7 years of age which would of been around 1986 so I consider myself very lucky to have witnessed the great Wigan teams of the late 80's and 90's. Aside from the many great players I have seen play the main memory for me is that of Central Park and my dad lifting me over the gates and getting me in for free, they never used to mind in those days.
If I did not attend games back then it was because I was taken to St.Marys church on a Sunday and as the church backed on to Central Park it was strange to hear the game going on during mass, you could always tell if Wigan were doing well or not - usually they were.
What was also stranger is that one of my heroes Shaun Edwards used to be an alter boy with me when I was about 10 or 11, he must of been about 17 years of age at the time so when I didn't see him in church I saw him playing for Wigan, great memories.
Im hoping to also brain wash my children with Wigan Rugby League If im lucky enough to have any but doubt they would get in for free these days.

| First game, the 1970 Cas cup final 'cos me mates were going. Amazing how living less than 10 miles away from towns like Wigan, Leigh etc and you knew nothing about the game. PE teacher though, as an amateur soccer international, said RL is the best spectator sport going. Met my Wiganer wife in '75 and we've been going ever since (as well as playing and coaching). So, about 700 I guess.

| My first game was when the Maths teacher at a football mad school in Atherton handed out complimentary tickets for a Leigh v Wigan match in app 1952/53. The maths teacher was a Mr Fred Howker who happened to be a R/L linesman and he persuaded us to go . I saw Fred running the lines at Wigan a few times ,but he was to die at a tragically young age.
My recollections of that first game was seeing these great big blokes smashing into each other all the match (all right trundling) and one thing has always stuck in my memory . It was the sight of this mountain of a man walking past us when he left the field at halftime, he was plastered in mud from head to toe with what seemed to be a bucket on his head. It was the great Ken Gee.
That was the start, football was forgotten and the week after I went with a mate from next door and his dad to watch Wigan. I could not begin to count the amount of matches I have attended over the years, albeit I have not attended many matches since they left C/P ( I think I have attended more matches away than home matches since C/P)
But I am still an avid supporter ,maybe not in the flesh but always keeping up to date with what is going on.

| My first game was as a 4 year old boy in 1959 ( I know, people who know me cant believe I'm so old due to my boyish good looks, but its true ), when I was taken to Central Park by my dad, not to watch Wigan, but in his words "I'm taking you to see Billy Boston play" ( and I've thanked him everyday since ). Probably impossible to add up how many games I've seen since that day, must be in the thousands, but you know what, I'm as excited today looking forward to Friday and the new season as I was that day in '59, its in the blood and I pray it always will be.

Aye the boys pen !
What a ferocious place that was .
I used to go in there then climb over to be with my Dad.
