What makes me laugh more than ever is that Smiths masterplan this season was to rest and spell his best players. Problem is all his best players are in their twylights of their careers, Morley, Briers not existant tonight, Westwood out, Hodgson and Carvell injured. Without those five Warrington are crap, and they know it.

But Wigan fans haven't been crowing about how amazing our team is, have we? In fact many Wigan fans have been writing off our own team in recent weeks. The average Wolfs fan seem to think they could beat Australia by at least 30 points, so I'm more than happy laughing at them after yesterday's humiliation at the hands of the scousers. If Wire go on to win the GF then they'll have the last laugh but they were hammered at home by Saints after bigging themselves up all season and I think we are allowed to have a chortle at the expense of the Wolfs.

Don't see the point in this. Wire could still clearly get to and win the GF.

You seem to forget that 30 odd people on an internet forum do not represent the 'average wolfs fan'. I just go to the games and enjoy rugby. If we win we win. If we loose we loose, simple as. obviously I want to win but we cant have everything can we?
I'm also just enjoying the fact that wire now have a team that can actually compete in big games. I's been a long time coming.

Totally agree MO i don't recall myself crowing or bigging our team up,we were poor last night saints were good The injuries we substained in the game were certainly a factor but we'll dust ourselves down and have another crack next week as another poster wrote you did it the same way two years ago and still went on to win just hope next weeks performance is 100% better and we get the wire/wigan final that we all want

He's the exception that proves the rule - he sounds like a proper rugby league fan who has perspective and knows about the history of his club. If only there were more Wire fans like him on these boards.
