| Not sure I agree with cutting the interchange numbers, What good will it bring? It either spells the end for rotating hookers or means the props are going to need to play for longer. Also gonna mean inured players are more probable to play on rather than be interchanged. Can't see how its going to improve the standard.

It'll hopefully reduce the game being influenced as much by a team rolling 4 forwards on and off. I much prefer players who can do big game time over 'impact' players. A positive rule change for mine if it goes through.

| Aren't they trying to even things up a bit with the Australian game as IIRC they have fewer than 10 interchanges allowed.

| I would have six substitute (two MUST be 21 or under) no interchange, once your off that's it. Strength and stamina should be part of the game.

Yep, they reduced it to 10 in 2008, I've read something saying they may be looking into reducing it further aswell.

I agree with this. This is Rugby League, not NFL.

I don't think the 'once you're off, you're off' rule should apply, but I do think that there should be four subs who can come back on once only after being brought off.
In other words eight interchanges.

Exactly my thought. It was predictable and boring! I've said for ages this game is too forwards dominated and I agree with Rogues that stamina and strength should be part of it.
The source btw was the Murdoch gutter press.

| i am sure that Ryan Hoffman said that he thought that we had too many interchanges over here and it means people don't have to be able to do the minutes they should do...

| Unlike Brian, I like the idea of rotating subs, , so if there's any changes to be done, maybe have only three on the bench, and reduce the numbers of interchanges allowed.

One of the reasons I went for a straight six and no interchange (two U21) was to help blood the younger players. The U20 league is not working.

| The NRL has 10 substitutes and is delivers an exceptional quality of sport I don't see any thing wrong with this move.

| Will mean players like Feka and Fatimona are less effective and less used. Teams won't want to bring a big, fat impact prop on for 10 mins and use 1/5 subs on them alone. Hopefully this will lead to a more durable forward pack that can beat Aussie packs and will hopefully provide a better standard of rugby.
