Does anyone think that 6 Wigan v Saints matches in a single season is a bit much? That's looking very likely looking at the current playoff picture. Overkill?

A tad overkill.
Far more tired of seeing the pests further down the m6 though and that's after just 3 games + a friendly.

Certainly overkill. Obviously no-one can plan for us drawing them in the cup but the Magic Weekend shouldn't exist (IMO) and there shouldn't be the potential to play the same team twice in the playoffs.

While i agree 6 matches is maybe too much it isn't unprecendented as in the 1992/93 season there was 6 St Helens/Wigan clashes back then

The difference being that 4 of those are knockout games, whereas only 1 so far this year has been (including this sunday), it could be two IF we play them again in a few weeks. In the 92/93 season 3 of the games were for a trophy also. |

I think you might be right.
Wigan are physically and even more so mentally fatigued. Sunday is a must win for the simple reason of needing a week off. |

Not sure I go with all the mental tiredness stuff. It's the part of the season that everyone lives for, surely? And yes, we looked shattered against Wire, but that doesn't mean they still are, 2 weeks later. For that matter, whilst I grant you that the quality of opposition wasn't the same, they looked pretty alert against Crusaders.
Just think (hope!) that we've got the edge over Saints at the moment, similar to the one they had over us a few seasons back.
