I certainly wouldn't go down there to watch it.'"
TBH there isn't the demand for international RL anywhere in Britain, compared to club games. A typical weekend will have close to 100k fans watching their own clubs, yet most of them go missing for internationals.

| The other week there was a thread on here berating the RFL for their small-mindedness in relation to international rugby for not playing games at Wembley.
Now they announce a game for Wembley and guess what............ you couldn't make it up.

| Thats great news IMO. Ill be going & I think everyone else should too if you can afford the time and money. We always moan about how international RL is not recognised as it should be and now we have the chance to make it, if there is a near enough full stadium of England and Wales fans people will sit up and take notice (then its up to the boys to do the job on the pitch - lets hope mcnamara is fired off between then and now.)

| The test matches used to be at Wembley. Could be a good move if we filled it. Not sure we would though.

| No doubt there will be many hundreds on RLFANS posting whilst the game is about to start stating how poor it looks on TV with all the empty seats.

| I posted on the VT about this last night. I think the best option would be to have the games at the Millenium Stadium and have the fixtures as Eng v Wales and Aus v NZ. I'm sure we'd get a more respectable attendance that way with a few Welsh casuals coming in for a pop at the English. It's better than getting people to go all the way to London to watch the two home nations get tonked

All depends on how the matches are marketed and sold to the potential audience.

Well yeah, but I for one don't make any bones about the fact that, if it came down to a choice, which it pretty much does in terms of time & finances, I'd pick Wigan over GB every time.
Not trying to justify that in any way, it's just the way I feel. If I had the spare cash/time, my first priority would be to spend it on going to Catalans away rather than an international.

| In the 1990 they used to get good crowds at Wembley, remember the Kangaroo tours of 1990 and 1994, and the 1992 World Cup Final there were 73000 odd at that, there were 66000 odd in the 1995 World Cup Final.
Mind you this was the era when there were guys like Offiah, Robinson, Newlove, Farrell, Schofield, Edwards in the team. All of whom were comfortably ahead of their equivalents today.

| I think it's a great idea. I'm starved of quality rugby living in Twickenham A lot of fans need to stop moaning, get off their backsides and get behind England. I'm sure there are quite a few southern RL fans who'd like a go, esp given the number of Kiwis and Aussies living in the capital...

Went to them all, great games with super atmosphere's. Also went to the GB vs NZ game where Robinson scored in the corner.
I really thought that 1995 World Cup Tournament was the start of something big with RL, check out the atmosphere on Youtube....incredible!!
Well, I'll start sticking the 50p's in the jar until tickets go on sale.

Everybody blames the marketing but the fact is pretty much every RL fan knows when these games are on, when there's low crowds its because the RL community isn't interested. You aren't going to be convinced to go just because you see a few more posters. But you can bet when there's the heated discussion on rlfans about why the crowd is poor (when the game is in progress), people will be saying I haven't seen ANY posters for this game!
