| Quote hooperman="hooperman"I thought that was a quite well represented article and should please you as it gives Maguires' coaching talent a big thumbs up. If he has the integrity he appears to have he will stay with you and if he hasn't then you are due a big payday to have him released from his contract. I can understand your feelings in this regard as he has turned you around to being a great team once more, but not necessarily the reason for the post?'"
The reason for my post is that Madge is going to get linked with every vacant (and some not) job in the NRL, but the link really does need to be better than this:
Quote hoopermanBen Ikin, Bennett's son-in-law who spent five years at the Broncos and works in the media, told the Sydney Morning Herald: "From my knowledge of how the Broncos have operated over the years, I would think they are probably looking at four possibilities for next year – Wayne, Craig Bellamy, Ricky Stuart and Michael Maguire."'"

| Pretty snidy attempt to upset the apple cart from Andy Wilson, lost a bit of respect for him now. I reckon MM has been taken out of context in relation to his comments, MM is straight forward deadpan Wigan untill his contract runs out I am 100% sure of that, really snidy that of Wilson a few days before the WCC.

Nice to see the national RL journos getting behind us ahead of the big game...
Can't say I'm surprised. He's a smug t0sser with a track record of making snide comments about Wigan.

| They thought the rumor of Bennett possibly going to the Broncos may effect St George.
Therefore they tried to level the surface by using Madges name. Typical Aussie tactics.
IMO I love Madge but I want to see Shaun be given the job after the three years.
17 wiganers coached by a wiganer with a wiganer as his number 2 (rads). BLISS!!

| I would love Maguire to stay after his contract for a while as well but then I fear we might lose Wane.

This is a very accurate assessment.
W/LA is quite right - we do need to get used to this sort of thing, and the link is tenuous in the extreme. In fact, when the story about Ivan what's-his-name getting sacked broke in the Aussie press yesterday, there was no mention of Michael Maguire's name that I saw - not in the first couple of stories at least.
But it's no surprise that Andy Wilson has found a way to include it. The guy's comments at the end of last season about "the wobbling Warriors" were, with the benefit of hindsight, utterly hilarious. He sets himself up as some kind of RL sage, and yet at the end of the day he's just another little get trying to make a buck out of TGG.

| Wane isn't ready and is a slow learner.
Madge will be hard pushed to stay at Wigan with the offers already coming in. fingers crossed he stays.
IFL needs to pump up the front office - no CEO, no significant fire power in the sales and marketing, etc.
Madge is the leader and I wonder who'd leave if Madge went. I reckon Rads would be first to go.
and yes, success breeds a lot of bulldust rumours. That's why it's so hard to stay at the top once you get there.
