| It's now getting very boring being blamed for the poor pitch at the DW
When the RL season finishes the pitch is perfect
When the RL season starts it's fit for digging up, and all the wear and tear is down the middle. RL is played over the full length and breadth of the pitch, unlike the pansy game which is predominantly confined to the middle
Last season the pitch was relaid in June (i think) and we didn't have a home game to enable this to happen, bet there is no mention of this in the one sided football press who IMO are all completely clueless and have no intention of investigating the real facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| This is a load of s**te, first game of the season against Cruseders, the pitch was shocking then!
Bearing in mind all of our pre season games have been at away venues how could we have possibly mess the pitch up after one game?
Fans are just using the Warriors as an excuse for the pitch being in a poor condition, i say hire some decent ground staff and maybe you might see a difference?

| Clearly, the rugby team is responsible for the wear and tear around the goalmouths and centre circle. That much is obvious.
We ruin the pitch by simply having our name over the door. We don't even have to tread on it. Surely everyone knows that.

I think you're underplaying the job our groundstaff do. IMO they do a fantastic job on a pitch that is in a difficult position geographically having been built on marshland thus plagued by flooding and general waterlogging. I think the only groundsman who has a similarly difficult job is the Rhinos groundsman who i believe has to contend with the rugby pitch being used as a secondary car park while the cricket is on.

| Are there any plans to do the repair work on it again like they did last year when we moved the Wakefield game?
Even that I suppose wouldn't make much difference with the weather we've had. Thats the sole reason the pitch is in a bad state and theres nothing anybody can do about that.

| I regularly read the Daily Mirror and notice how negative it has been with regards to Wigan Warriors in the past couple of seasons.

| We must get a flag made about the 'problems we make on the pitch'
Laughable.

Any newspaper that has any ties to Piers Morgan, now or in the past, is a crock of , that shouldnt be read anyway
Why is anyone suprised? Football is the darling of the media, clearly we will take the blame from the laziest of all lazy journalist stories?

| I find it funny how people in football find the pitch such a crucial part of the season. To me, it's just an excuse for poor performances.
English lads will have been noticed and signed from clubs playing in mud and sludge on pitches with next to no grass yet we're able to impress enough to be signed. There will be some foreign players who will have never played on grass before being signed, instead they're used to gravel and surfaces like that. But now, if the pitch isn't like a crown green bowling green, they find it 'hard' to play on. Hilarious.

| The pitch was worse a few seasons ago and it helped Wigan Athletic in their fight against relegation because it stifled any creativity and suited long-ball merchants. I seem to remember Arsene Wenger being particularly vexed about the pitch when his Arsenal side struggled at the DW Stadium.
Bearing that in mind how the Daily Mirror can claim it will be a hindrance to Wigan Athletic when in the past it has been nothing but an advantage doesn't make too much sense, unless Martinez has the side playing 'attractive' football now.

Might even make Mr Whelan re-declare his undying commitment to the Warriors again if the latics take the drop.

| Getting back to the Piers Morgan comment, Stephen Fry was asked to define "countryside" and his response was "murdering Piers Morgan."
If our national treasure thinks that, it must be true!
