He's not retired. Just stepped down from being Number 1 commentator. The BBC obviously decided the Aus v NZ game was the bigger game and rightly so.
Dave Woods will be doing the commentary on England v Australia next Saturday with John Kear.

Thank god for that, I had terrible nightmares of Ray French messing up names and generally being clueless about what's going on.
When the day come's for Eddie to step down from SKY I'd love Dave Woods to be given the role of commentator. |

I think dave woods would need a big pay slip to work on sky as he also does footie comentry for a broadcaster that i wont mention but they have never coverd RL.

I thought Justin Morgan did well on the highlights they showed Sunday.
Granted it was only highlights and i don't know what 80 mins would be like listening to him but he seemed keen as well as knowledgeable in his analysis.

He's a superb analysist. The BBC use him quite often and he speaks well about the game. Top coach to boot. He won't be on the BBC this weekend unless he's a studio pundit. They giving us John Kear on Saturday and Robbie Paul is doing France v NZ for them! |

I did notice he said "this week" but he was wrong. Not like Eddie to be wrong is it?  I like Eddie but his professionalism is going a bit Ray French these days. It is on a week Friday as my tv page highlights - its a two hour show! |
