George Williams heading back to the NRL apparently, to sign with the Dolphins. Told Wire he won't extend his deal (that runs out at the end of 2026) and he'll either go for 2026 or 2027 according to Matt Shaw. 

Not really a surprise

He hasnt done that much since coming back IMO and seems to be one to always chase the money

Problem for Wire will be either to let him go now for a fee or force him to stay when he doesn't want to be there and not get a fee. 


Obvious plan would allow him to go now for a fee. That can only happen if Wire can find a capable replacement.


In a way a shame another quality player lost to Super League.

There’s your route back for Lewis Dodd. 

He's 31 this year, so only 3, poss 4 more seasons in him, so i personally dont think a big loss to super league in that sense. We're used to getting aged Ozzies coming over for a pay day, so why not the other way , although he'll be on a decent wedge at Wire as he only signed there to win things and not for the Wigan £££ 

Sounds to me like he's gone full Williams and wants another pay increase. He's neither good enough, or young enough to be a serious option for an NRL side - especially with a transfer fee attached.  


For me, he's one of the most over hyped players of the last 20 years. 

Wire will come for Farrimond.


Need to keep their Wigan academy quota full.

Is he not on a long term contract? I thought he'd signed one, but cant find anything about it

Jack has a contract for another 5 years.

Williams is a top player.
