| Weren't all the tries down the left last week? Does that mean we need a left side second row as well?
For me the problem was a lack of numbers which causes goulding and charnley to rush out. They're in a no win position. Stay where they are and they leave a gap in the middle, rush out and they leave a gap out wide. I don't think there is a problem with anyone's tackling technique they just need to communicate better and improve on line speed especially when close to the line.
On the plus side we kept them tryless second half and Bateman had a lot to do with that. I'm not panicking.
How did Hansen get on with Salford last night? I was too busy watching Wigan win.

Salford's best signing by a long way.

| I agree. Point being it takes more than one person to tackle.

| Second row has gone from our strongest position to our weakest, I think recruitment wise it has slipped under the radar due to the strength in depth we had there. For me Jack Hughes is not good/consistent enough. He has one good game every 10 weeks. Farrell will never let us down and John Bateman seems like a superb signing but wane has already stated he won't be playing him every week. We need a Ryan Hoffman style signing, or Harrison Hansen back.

| To replace a world class second row in HH with a substandard player like Clubb and a young lad like Bateman is awful squad management. To make it even more of a bad decision, SW wants to rest Bateman a lot this season?!?
Also, I find it embarrassing to see Jordan James line up in the Wigan 17. He's far too slow and everyone knows it. People may argue that he brings experience. That's true but that experience he brings is from average, bottom 6 clubs with a losing culture. The likes of Hopkins and Greenwood down at London must feel like sh*t if he's getting in over them.

| It's disappointing to see the lack of faith in one of your own, for starters Hughes hasn't had much game time but people have judged him to be not good enough at 22 years of age.
Compare him to Harrison Hansen when he was 22 and i rate Hughes higher. I just don't see enough perseverance in English Rugby League and until the mindset changes you will always struggle to produce enough quality players.

My solution get James Roberts and put gelling or Thornley there, they both are big enough and make plenty of meters.'"

Spot on with your comments there. We've replaced some of the best players in SL with guys that aren't at this moment in time as good as them. Don't get me wrong i love that fact that we are identifying guys like Scott Taylor, Bateman and even Sarginson as they are some of the best young talent in the league. We've moved decisively and quickly to secure these guys before the other big clubs did the same and that needs applauding. What i also have to applaud the club over is their willingness to give the top young guns from our a academy a shot - Burgess & Crosby in particular.
What i do however have a problem with is that at the same time as we are looking to the future we are neglecting the here and now. Guys like Taylor and Bateman should be playing alongside guys like HH and Mossop and not Clubb and James. By holding firm with HH and Moose yes we would have lost out on revenue from transfer fees but we would have been in a much stronger position on the pitch.
For me i just don't don't think the club has the balance right between long and short term thinking.

We've had too much faith in our own and it's time to stop with the 'bring the kids in mentality' that everyone instantly turns to when a player leaves.
The day we turn away from Aussie imports or signing guys from other clubs is the end of our great history with signings

While accepting what you say to a point, you have to get used to the idea that currently we, thats SL in general, CAN'T afford aussie imports in their prime.. Simple fact of life...

My post wasn't directed at the club it was directed at the fans love in with any player that comes from our academy. All of the above (Bateman aside) have at some point had the 'bring the kids in' brigade question either their talent, ability, form or suitability to the Wigan side.
Like i said we've had too much faith in our own and imo and in many ways it adds extra undue pressure/question marks over the guys we do sign.

| Jordan James is Championship standard at best.
Huge mistake letting Hansen go, Hudds also took advantage of the channel he used to defend on the right hand side aswell.
He was immense against Widnes last week in a poor Salford team. I do like the look of young Burgess though.

He's a good player but world class? Give over, he can't even get close to the NZ team! How many world class players are there at any one time in your opinion? 100? For me 'world class' means a player who would be picked in a world 17
