Why don't you chill?
You seem very tense. Leeds were nowhere last season and this season will be the same.

Yes but a league leaders simply isn't equivalent to a SL trophy and we all know it. Most fans could tell you who won the grand final and Challenge Cup for the past 5years+ off the top of their heads, I bet not many could do the same with the league leaders!

its silverware and fans are still happy when they win it. If anything its so underrated its criminal. with out researching it was wigan twice, warrington, wigan and now huddersfield. there is 3 pieces of silverware up for grabs every season and a 4th to only one team, if anything you shouldn't included world club challenges as its not representative of a team that season.

If every team was going all out to finish as high as possible then I'd agree that the league leaders shield was just as valuable as an SL trophy or a Challenge Cup, but as it stands teams are only bothered about finishing in the top 4, as long as that's safe they will happily rest players and focus all their energy on being ready for the play offs, often at the expense of the latter rounds. This devalues the league leaders shield. As an example I seriously doubt whether Huddersfield would have won the league leaders shield if Wigan, Leeds and Wire had all seen it as important as you do.
There are only two trophies that all 14 sides will push as hard as they can to win every year, that's why they are the true measures of sucess and more valuable than the league leaders shield, which is trivial under the current system. Danny Brough said in pre season that he hopes they don't win the league leaders this year. Do you think any player would ever say that about the SL or the CC?

Last season Leeds put a lot more in to the regular season than they have been doing and us and warrington slacked off. The seasons before that where warrington was only finishing a point behind us or when they won the league leaders i would say both teams was going all out. And to be fair Wigan and Warrington where the only teams in those seasons who could do that, if leeds tried they would of gassed them selves out and probably wouldn't have won the grand finals.
But anyway where did i ever mention the importance of each trophy? Its general knowledge that every season there is 3 pieces of silverware up for grabs and in the past two season we have won as much as warrington and leeds combined. And in the past 3 season we are only 1 piece and silverware shy of both of them put together. not quite sure why you would then turn around and say you shouldn't include the league leaders when its a piece of silverware and if maybe warrington or leeds tried harder they may have won something last season.

Wow. New sig material right there.
Leeds were cruising & top of the league last year before all the injuries.
I'm not saying they'd have continued like that but despite the worst run of injuries i've ever seen at Leeds they still finished 3rd before running out of steam in the GF eliminator.

| Anyone who writes Leeds off is a complete fool and knows nothing about Rugby League. Yes, they were nowhere last season just like the other 12 clubs who won nothing. Actually, to be fair, give Huddersfield credit for the LLS. Leeds have the best backline in the competition and some promising youngsters in the pack. Of course they'll miss Peacock when he goes (who wouldn't?), but he hasn't gone yet.
I can't help feeling that a thread like this, whilst mostly harmless banter (hate that word) will come back to bite us. It's a long season and we will play Leeds at least three times, possibly 5 or 6. They will be Wigan's biggest threat. Respect is due!!!

That's quite an achievement considering Leeds only lost 1 game in the first 14 rounds before injuries kicked in.

Round 2 lost to Cas
Round 6 lost to Giants
Round 9 drew with Bulls
plus you missed a week due to WCC
I don't recall too many of yours missing Magic (round 16 after losing to Saints in round 15) through injury? All of the usual were playing (Peacock, McGuire, Sinfield, Watkins, Hardaker, Hall, Burrow etc etc).. by the way, since when were injuries an excuse?
