| The game needs a change to get it going again. The fact that people always say the Aussies are under cooked and don't really care will continue to hold it back until we start to go over there and play against the odds.in an ideal world I'd love to see 6-8 teams involved playing a mini comp but I can't see it anytime soon.
We should help ourselves and buy some more time by dropping the superleague to a 12 or even 10 team comp. It would increase standards across the board and give us more free weeks for rep rugby.
Again this won't be happening anytime soon though. I have no faith in a board that sells a 7 figure sponsorship deal for magic beans (or posters on a couple of trucks) to get anything right.

| I am glad Leeds won, being the English team, but their first and last tries were from forward passes that were a mile forward. Well played Leeds though, they showed great effort and great determination to cling on in that second half when they could have easily collapsed.

| Leeds deserved their win. Manly blew it when they gave away the stupid lead with the forearm penalty as they had Leeds on the ropes at that time.

because the powers that be know that no british team could win it over there, i doubt any team will did what Wigan did in 94 and british rugby would be an even bigger laughing stock than it already is

At last, a bit of common sense on here. How Manly played 80 minutes with 13 men after two spear tackles and a blatant lead with the elbow is beyond me. Klein's refereeing around the ptb was terrible. Leeds certainly deserved to win and it's good for RL in this country.

| Congratulations to the Rhinos, wasn't expecting it (or wanting it if I'm completely honest). But after the amount of "it's only a pre-season game" etc I've read off bitter Aussies on Twitter I'm actually quite happy now.
The format does need revamping for the Aussie press/public to view it in as high regard as we do. Alternate between UK/Aus, play it in between the GFs and international series and every 4 years have an 8 team tournament.

| Glad Leeds won but:
- 1st and 2nd to last tries were forward by a bloody mile
- Burrow- too much of a short ar*e to play the game. How someone like Toni Williams is to get down to the poison dwarfs level is beyond me.

| Leeds deserved the win on the night, They defended brilliantly and Manly's discipline was poor to say the least, They had them on the ropes in the second half though up until that silly elbow incident, Then Manly just self distructed giving away a lot of silly penalties. But it was a very well contested second half with a lot of good big hits going in.
Klein let a lot go, and both teams got away with things they perhaps shouldn't have. Leeds had a spell where they got penalised a lot and Sinfield had a moan "sir, its penalty penalty penalty, theres 2 teams..." but they where infringements so no one can argue about that really. shortly after that Manly did the same and Imploded.
People will say it's always good to get one over the aussie's. and taking nothing away from Leeds efforts tonight, But it would be nice for us to not need the advantages we are given in order to beat them. We will now get the usual, oh yeh, we beat an aussie team, we are getting closer to the NRL, then come the end of the season get shown up in the international series.
I think it's time the wcc was either played a few weeks after the grand final, or further into the season. and who knows, maybe it might get played in Australia again? then we can be up against a prepared Aus team and really get a good taste of if we are near them competitively or not.
Oh and could Stevo have sounded any more excited tonight? seriously getting beyond a joke now.
and yes, they where forward passes. but its not like leeds to get away with those is it?

| There is a lot of sense on here, I agree that Leeds got the rub of the green on some decisions, very proud of the way we defended though. However... Quote: XBrettKennyX "

| To some of you Wigan fans slagging off Leeds for getting away with the odd forward pass.
Maybe you should look no further than a possible 3 yellow cards if not a sending off for Manly.
Also not so sure there was a ball steal which gifted them their first try.
Bad decisions for both sides.
And as for Leeds getting away with forward passes I think you should think back to how you won the CC.
