| By eck, you forget how good that Wigan side actually was. That back line was immense!
To be fair, I'm not sure how many (if any) of our current crop would get into that side!

I reckon Wasps could give any SL side a game as could Leicester.

They'd give them a game. RU sides are more disciplined than they were years ago and the Heineken Cup throws up some VERY entertaining games. Wasps defence would be well drilled under Edwards.
I'm not for a second saying they'd win, but it would be a tougher game than some are saying (I mean we weren't exactly tonked at Union in 96 once we got through the first 20)

| Working in the Manchester area, I went to Maine Rd with around 10 others from work, only me and one other Wiganer, a Leyther and none of the rest of whom were particularly interested in Rugby of either code, apart from Rob our canteen mon (and pitied Wire supporter).
It was a night out from work which involved a curry in Rusholme at Shere Khans (alright at the time but subsequently been done by the environmental health !
Quality. Almost as funny as Eddie wearing eye-liner.

| Heard about the game but never got to watch it. Enjoying the old style sky presentation and also enjoying the fact that Stuart Barnes was still as much of a t**t then as he is now.

Barnes comments after Wigans 3rd try, Bath are moving up too quickly in defense, if they move up slower they will have more chance. What a fountain of rugby knowledge that bloke has. 1st class prick. Was good to see steveo giving him what for before the match (even though steveos a knob too). Used to love the music Sky played on the try replays too, Cease The Day or something I think.

| I was at Twickenham for the Middlesex 7s and the Union half of this match for my sins. The Union match was dire but we score two blinding full lengthers from Craig Murdock.
I still think us fannying about with these gimmicky matches cost us the Super League title that year but sadly our financial plight made them a necessity.

I went to the Union game.
Remember Radlinski making an error similar to the Bath ones. (out of instinct basically) He tackled Callard right on the Bath line and instead of standing up and picking it up when Callard let the ball go, he put his hands on it whilst off his feet which resulted in a penalty. Would have been 44-28 had he done it right.

| With regards to the SL title, had Terry Matterson's conversion not hit the bar and gone over we would have still won the title anyway.

Well so people say but we still lost to Bradford away later in the season just after getting back into the race by beating Saints at home.

Didn't they only have 12 men that day as well?
