| Celtic were very poor today but you can only play what is infront of you and Wigan did that today. We showed some good touches and finished off some good moves, room for improvement but we have the two points.

What youve only just realised were nowhere near as good as saints?

just because we've won 4 from 11, dosent mean we didn't play some good rugby and scored some good tries!

| Quote: piemandan "True. However, I think we all know not to look into this game too much, it doesn't give a true indication of any improvement from the last.'"
It does and it doesn't.
Phelps went backwards from his performance in the Saints game. He was at fault for the first try and never looked comfortable at fullback. I think Roberts had to switch with him. Some nice link up plays in attack but is too suspect in defence for my liking.
Big improvement from Tim Smith. He seemed to have more idea what he was doing in attack and made some decent tackles in defence. His defence is still an issue and Celtic exploited it on the odd occasion. It makes me think that against a better side he will just get caught out too many times to have him the side.
Andy Coley continued to look very good today as did Paul Prescott. I was very impressed with Prescott he seems to have added an offload to his game.
Stuart Fielden was poor again.
Martin Gleeson showed some good touches and seems to better organise our defence. Starting to see more and more from him as the weeks go on.

| We did what we needed to, against a top side we would have in all honesty lost.
Smith was okay, nothing more.
Richards to me looks injured.
Phelps is looking more acomplished at fb than Richards/Roberts.
Riddell went well.
Fielden still poor.
Celtic aren't that bad a team, they just have no game breaker. Van Dyke (sp) might have been okay in NL1/2 but he isn't up to SL imo.

| Celtic are a poor team AJ and JVD is their best player. If they built a squad around him they would go very well indeed. He is a very crafty, creative and experienced player and if they have any hope of recording a win they need to keep him and Tony Duggan fit.

I disagree based on what little I have seen of them this year. (Sky games and today.)

| Smith had a good game. Up to the standards he set in the Hull game. Phelps had a shocker but luckily we were playing the worst team in the competition so it didn't matter.

If he gets runners he looks a classy ball handler....................if he doesn't he looks an indecisive wreck.
Who's at fault?'"
But he only runs sideways. Still prefer Sam because he has more strings to his bow.
Thought Coley had a great game. He and Gleeson were our two best players. Ainscough should not have been dropped for Phelps.

| watched the game sober and closely today. in my humble opinion the problem we have is totaly in the forwards coley and fielden. feka and prescot. when the first two are on there is only one forward making any impact and thats coley. when second 2 come on there is only feka making any impact. so to me for the full eighty minutes were playing with only one effective prop. change that and we would be a totaly different team.that certainly is the big problem in my opinion. saying that i am glad for the 2 points. first 15 minutes we were poor. rest of the game we did ok

| I was at the game today and have noticed a lack of comments about Sam Tomkins. I thought he was excellent, he's got passion by the bucketful if only he had some support from the rest of the team! Thought Smith and Riddell did OK, but again no meaningful yards from Fielden.

| The forwards were poor yesterday, against someone like Celtic the should have had a field day, with bust tackles all over the place,
Forwards
Fielden yet again poor and stealing his money,
Coley ok,
Bailey, see Fielden (adds nothing will be glad to see him go and free up some cash for a prop),
Feka, best forward, (looks even fatter and out of shape than at start of season)
Lockers average, made some good breaks
Prescott for me adds nothing, did a few offloads, about all, I know he is young and this view may be unpopular but he should have been throwing his weight around yesterday like Joel.
Joel, looked hungry for it, fighting for his place, up for it.
Riddell - quiet
Amongst the backs
Gleeson, best of bunch, frustrated with lack of support.
Phelps (again may be unpopular view, but look SL quality, albeit fringe player)
Carmont still not fully fit
Paaaat, as above
Roberts, some good touches, hopefully finding his form
Smith, some good touches, has the potential to be a Trent Barratt, but depends on confidence and support of good pack, so will ultimately flop.
