| Quote: Ashton Warrior "Yeah Phelps must of been injured.
However, a back line next week considering everyone is fit -
Richards
Roberts
Carmont
Gleeson
Ainscough
Phelps
S Tomkins
would do me, with Tommy starting at 9.'"
I have always said I would like to see stability from now on in the halves and backs meaning for the rest of the season I would like to see,
Richards
Roberts
Carmont
Gleeson
Ainscough
Sam
Tommy
BUT
Phelps was brilliant attacking against Stains so I think he deserves a chance at 6 and Tommy has the potential to be a world class 9. Maybe he could play the full 80 leaving room an extra forward on the bench? maybe even Smith(it has got that bad)?

| I wouldnt want Smith on the bench, but I would have Goulding on the bench at least. He brings an attacking threat to the team at least.

I think there is a bit of cherry and white tinted views on his performance. He was ok but no better than what we have and with the lack of ball tonight would have made NIL difference.
We need to keep hold of the ball and complete our sets, in the 2nd half we knocked on twice on the first tackle when in their 20 and it could have got us back in the game.

Right
He is our best attacking option at full back and he was rated by the aussies when he played 6 so that is what I am basing my point on.
I never said he would have made any difference I just think if he was dropped it would have been extremely hard because the lad plays with heart and passion which I personally love to see
The last bit I agree with. Reckon Noble's realised that yet?

I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew

How many NRL games did he play at 6 then??? For me a very average player who is not an improvement on any of the players that played tonight

| Coley was my MOM today, he regularly does exactly what we need a prop to do... Drive in hard and tire the defence.... never rated him but can't fault the lad..

None, it's a myth that he is a #6.
I think he played their once when he was in under 8's.
It's the same with Liam Fulton joining Huddersfield, he told them he can play five eighth, he isn't a 6 in a million years.

I don't know how many games but I do know he was behind Kimmorley and Roberts in the pecking order to be a half back. He was used as a utility player like Wigan are using him. The best game we have seen from him by a mile was against Stains when he played an attacking ball playing role at full back, we also saw a decent kicking game from him too which he has never before been given license to do. It has also been well documented on here that the aussies rated him highest when he played at 6 which after the Stains game supports this.
You don't know that he would not be an improvement on the players that played tonight because you haven't seen him play at 6. I am not saying he would be a definite improvement but I think he deserves a chance to show what he's got. Our main problem lies in the front row but the combination of Sam at 6 Tommy at 7 and Riddell/ McIlorum at 9 is not doing very well at the moment so I was just saying I would like to see Phelps given a go at 6 with Sam at 7 and Tommy at 9. That would put all 3 players in what I think our their best positions and it MAY be an improvement on what we have playing currently so I think its worth giving a go.

| it was always said get the spine of the team right,ie 1,6,7,9,13 and you can get away with half decent players in other positions. we have a 1 who should be at 2, 6 should be at 7,7 should be at 9, 9 not as good as 9 we got rid of and 13 should be at 12. is it any wonder were no good.
also coach should be at bradford.

| It doesnt matter who our 1-7 is if the forwards dont set the platform. That is a simple fact of rugby league life. If your going backwards with no quick play the balls, it doesnt matter who gets the ball at half back because it is nigh on impossible to win a game like that.
